Now, rather than asking "why", might it not prove more useful to all parties for us to focus instead on finding ways to encourage mutual love, respect, and value. (Yes, Beastie, I have already made this suggestion on the thread in question.)

I'll try to remember your comments, wade, if I have any opportunity for future exchange with Ray and go with whatever develops.

I have to say, though, from what I've observed you're being a very generous friend to him. Hope he appreciates it.
