Of course, many here are jumping from one question to another.
If you want to denigrate a religous system because it is exclusionary, that is emotionalism at the expense of reasonable discord.
If you want to denigrate LDS for being arragont based on your experience or other evidence, than that is quite justifiable. And, for what its worth, I would agree.

The "certain knowledge" is ALWAYS based on feelings, KA.
Only if you extend feelings to include all contact with reality would I agree with that claim.

That statement would make our Messiah the most arrogant man alive.

I agree that "I know this church is true" is somewhat a conditioned response, though the individual saying it (most the time) believes it to be true. However, the statement does not imply that other churches are not true. it just implies that other churches are not true for the individual who stipulates that X church is true. Also doing someone else's temple work is not arrogance. It can be compared to washing a neighbor's car without them knowing. They walk out the next day and see a clean car. Do they have to accept it? No. They can get upset and easily dirty it up again, or they can say, "cool! A clean car! Thank you!!!" That's not arrogance; that is just being kind.

I have nothing to say but, "I wish I was in Bowling Green, sittin' in a chair..." I love that song! Maybe I'll reply more seriously later. :)

What song is this?
It's an old folk song about Bowling Green! Here's the text. I'm looking for the music.
Bowling Green
Wish I was in Bowling Green sittin' in a chair
One arm round my pretty little miss
'Tother 'round my dear
'Tother 'round my dear,
Bowling Green
Oh you good old Bowling Green.
If you see that man of mine, tell him once for me
If he loves another girl,
Yes I'II set him free
Yes I'II set him free,
Bowling Green
Oh you good old Bowling Green.
Wish I was a bumblebee sailing through the air
Sail right down to my true love's side,
Touch him if you dare.
Touch him if you dare,
Goin' through this whole wide world,
I'm goin' through alone;
Goin' through this whole wide world,
I ain't got no home,
I ain't got no home.
Recorded by Cousin Emmy, also Kossoy Sisters

I MUST hear the song, or at least see the sheemusic. I cannot believe I have missed this considering all the folk and bluegrass music of which I listen.
