On what basis is the God you have chosen more credible than the Hellenic Gods, other than it’s simply the one you were brought up on?
Nail hit on head. The overwhelming mass of deity-worshippers do what they do for no better reason than because that is the way Mom and Dad brought them up.

If that's what you think then I can't disabuse you of that notion.

In some respects the Hellenistic Religion has some similarities with Christianity. They had a number of beliefs that were not far off from the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation. Enough so, that I think they were on a path that led them towards a greater good. As with a number of other religions that could be mentioned.

One important thing was missing. The guy I just mentioned. Yeah, Jesus Christ. It comes down to whether or not you believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Redeemer...and Creator. An important difference.

But you don't have to believe in Jesus to believe in Hellenistic thought. If that's what your belief system is, I won't fault you for that. Stoicism, a subset of Hellenistic philosophy, is not a bad way to go.

Not necessarily.

Does Stoicism promise us our own planets if we are faithful in our monthly payments?

Not that I know of.

By the way:
"Do Latter-day Saints believe that they will ‘get their own planet’? No. This idea is not taught in Latter-day Saint scripture, nor is it a doctrine of the Church. This misunderstanding stems from speculative comments unreflective of scriptural doctrine

The Church emphasizes that members believe in the potential to become like God (a doctrine known as exaltation or eternal progression), but it does not specify the details of what this entails, especially regarding the creation or ownership of planets.

Perplexity A.I.
If you're familiar with Stoicism, however, there are some valuable insights and practices available through this practice/philosophy.

When I was young, the word at Church was that we could become Gods and get our own planet. I think this denial of becoming Gods and getting our own planet was pulled because it interfered with our desire to appear less like infidel Christians.

I wish Stoicism would make a comeback since it seems less likely that such a belief system would become overrun with grifters and it has the makings for creating wonderful neighbors.

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Well, is it not the case that most people who are Mormon have Mormon parents? Most people who are Catholics have Catholic parents? Most people who are <religious adjective> have <religious adjective> parents?

Given the extent to which the act of parenting often involves introducing one's children to family religious practices, it seems clear to me that there is not only a strong statistical correlation with parental religion, but an obvious causative mechanism. And that is how most people acquire whatever religion they may possess. Do you disagree?
