So what you're saying, beastie is that DECEPTION is God's weapon of choice?
I doubt they view it as deception, although the victims likely do.
I'm just speculating, engaging in pointless mind-reading, so take it with a grain of salt, but it's how I have gradually come to view the approach of some apologists. Take John Clark's BYU devotional about the Book of Mormon and archeaology. He made some very misleading statements in that talk, that likely led listeners without adequate background knowledge to draw certain conclusions about the correlation between ancient Mesoamerica and the Book of Mormon that aren't true. But I suspect that Clark believes the Book of Mormon is true, and these assertions will actually be proven to be correct in the end, anyway, so it's not really deception. It's helping people believe in something that he believes is actually true, although the evidence currently doesn't support it.
So I believe that Juliann and others similar to her really do believe that this board and RFM are filled with bigoted, prejudiced, hate-filled people who are engaging in deliberate acts of deception in order to lead people away from the "one true church". So while a more thorough and fair analysis of the boards would lead to a more thoughtful and complicated assessment, it's still ok for her to make statements that, while not currently supported by a fair analysis of all the evidence - such as the context of the thread (! so ironic that believers harp that critics ignore context !) - she still fully believes are TRUE.
Take the Charity brouhaha for example. The evidence did NOT support that anyone here had EVER mocked Charity for being disabled. But the people who insisted that had been the case, in my opinion, still believed that someone had done so, and we had just managed to erase all trace of it. They believe it because we are 'antimormons' who are hateful, bigoted, prejudiced people capable of such behavior. So it's ok to let that accusation stand even without supporting evidence.
I don't know if this actually portrays their thought processes or not. But it's the only way I've been able to make sense of their behavior.
