I think, for you, the better grammar usage for the above is this. Instead of "attempts at deflecting your so-called prophets sordid past," you might consider "attempts at deflecting yer so-called prophet's sordid past." Note the proper use of the possessive (you seem to have a problem with that!) and the replacement of "your" to "yer" to reflect your educational attainments. Hope it helps.
