The mopes have fought long and hard for LGT and will be damned if some wannabe apologist(s) comes in claiming their territory. They waited for at least one apostle to die. They lied about the 2nd Watson letter. They've spilled a lot of ink supporting their version of the Book of Mormon myth. And I'm sure they have had numerous discussions with GAs in order to lobby for their pet myth version. So, it's not surprising they act this way.

I don’t think Seatimer has been paying attention to his own people’s infighting. Ask Neville if he feels like there’s a lack of “burning hatred” from the guy who’s been obsessed with him for four years running.

Yes, it’s all rather silly. Jonathan Neville is LDS. Mike Parker is LDS. Boylan is LDS. Where is the persecution here? What is provoking the nastiness is disagreement over issues that do not matter. The Mopologists did not have to get personal about this, regardless of the behavior of any Heartlanders. Now critics are being leveraged by both sides for rhetorical purposes.

Would one not reasonably think that someone of DCP's stature could and should be a peacemaker? A blessed endeavor.

Rather than apparently being content to be peripheral to the story, could he not be extremely visible - front and centre - in encouraging the two factions to tone down the rhetoric, and pay attention to the words of Pres Nelson?

This week has taken a toll on me, emotionally and spiritually. And there may be more challenges ahead, if Jonathan Neville follows through on some of the things he told me he may choose to do.

I’m going to take a break from this blog for a bit to find some peace in the company of friends and family. I’ll be back in a bit, once I’ve recharged.

Despite our dramatic differences and feelings of mistrust for one another, I do wish to thank Jonathan Neville for posting my responses to his comparison table. He published my reply over five individual blog posts (I, II, III, IV, and V). Needless to say, I take strong exception to his commentary on my replies—I believe that he has misconstrued almost all of what I wrote. Still, I’m grateful that he gave me the opportunity to respond and followed through by publishing it. My offer for him to write something that I will post on my blog remains open.

Unbelievable. Mike Parker has viciously attacked others for 4 solid years, but he can't handle 1 week of his behavior being brought to light.

Two, we can use this situation as a path to reconciliation, eliminate the contention, and discuss the issues in a reasonable, friendly, cordial way that models the “unity in diversity” approach I’ve been seeking all along. That would defuse the critics and demonstrate a new, healthy, noncontentious form of apologetics.

This flies in the face of the divine mantle placed upon the apologists by Elder Neal L. Maxwell. Their charge is war unending against the enemies of Church apologetics. They are exempt from the Geneva Convention rules.
