Mike Parker says Neville is trying to blackmail him

Unbelievable. Mike Parker has viciously attacked others for 4 solid years, but he can't handle 1 week of his behavior being brought to light.

It’s because their double think is baked into their identity. From SeN’s comments section:

Even if, for the sake of argument, we accept that the "generally" description is accurate, it still give these "Christians" a lot of scope for disrespect and worse.

And who, in this case, seems to be getting the worse? Other members of the "only true and living church"!

It's unclear to me why Parker is interpreting Neville's comments as "blackmail." Neville said that he'd been invited onto other podcasts in order to discuss the "Nygren Incident." He told Parker that he would reconsider appearing on the podcasts if Parker agreed to take down NNL. How is that "blackmail," though? The classic case of blackmail is where somebody *demands* that you give them something--money, usually--or else they will hurt you in some way. In this scenario, though, Neville is not asking to be "given" anything: it's not like he's going to "profit" in any way, right? Meanwhile, I thought Parker was "innocent"? He gave his side of the story on Boylan's podcast. So if Neville is simply going on additional podcasts and repeating the same story that's already out there in the ether, then, again, I ask: how is that "blackmail"? Especially if Parker didn't do anything "wrong"?

Meanwhile, there is Parker's assertion that he's "spiritually exhausted." What's that supposed to mean? That the Holy Ghost has been telling him that he needs to keep smearing Neville, but, hey: it's really a lot of work!? At the end of the day, he can choose to carry on with his "holy war" with the Heartlanders, or he can take what is likelier the better/easier path and just admit that he made a mistake and delete the blog. When the classic-FARMS Mopologists got caught for "Metcalfe is Butthead," they had to recall all the issue of the journal in order to change the acrostic. Parker, it seems to me, needs to do something similar.

You really should just sincerely apologize for the deceptions and attacks. It would go a long way. The attacks in this article (calling Jonathan dishonest, a blackmailer and a back stabber, calling Heartland people racist etc) just make things worse. Apologize and try to be better - that's the best way you can help yourself and the church right now. I hope you'll consider it. I actually appreciate that you're trying to defend the church, but there's too much friendly fire. All the best.

Iʼll freely admit that I did not keep my cool in that email exchange, but Iʼm afraid youʼre seeking an apology from the wrong person.

Instead of prayerfully repenting, making amends, and doing better Mike “Peter Pan” Parker attempts to pick a fight with another Latter-day Saint - trying to suck in a well-meaning brother to the vortex of crazy crazy that is his life.

It's another iteration of the bully/victim behavior so many do and what the cry/bully mopes love. "How dare you complain against what I just did and threaten to continue to respond. You're attacking me! You're demands for me to act civilly are blackmail!"
