The Afore is currently performing some high speed damage control, attempting to rewrite himself as a paragon of religious tolerance in a frantic effort to salvage the few scraps of his legacy that haven't already burned to the ground.
Unfortunately for the Afore, he has a long and well documented history of making disparaging remarks about other beliefs and religions. For example, he has publicly referred to Scientology as "most clearly a fraud" and has labeled Calvinism "abhorrent." He has also used strong language to criticize other Christian groups, calling some evangelicals "anti-Mormon bigots" and stating that "the theological and historical ignorance of Protestants is astounding."
Additionally, the Afore has made numerous disparaging comments toward both Judaism and Catholicism. This evidence provides a rather inconvenient reality check for the Afore's self-appointed status as a paragon of religious tolerance and respect. It turns out the Afore's pedestal is built on a very shaky foundation of hypocrisy and lies.
Folks, you really can't make this stuff up.

For the love of god someone explain to me why he incorporates his blog with what goes on here.Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 1:57 amThe Afore is currently performing some high speed damage control, attempting to rewrite himself as a paragon of religious tolerance in a frantic effort to salvage the few scraps of his legacy that haven't already burned to the ground.

What are the odds that he’ll apologize for making cracks about casting Pee-Wee Herman as James Strang?

The odds of that are roughly the same as the Afore finally finishing those 2 books he promised BYU or finally offering a sincere apology for publicly lying about his testimony regarding being a eyewitness to the Second Watson Letter.Doctor Scratch wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 2:55 amWhat are the odds that he’ll apologize for making cracks about casting Pee-Wee Herman as James Strang?

This is as heinous as suggesting that Pee-Wee Herman portray Muhammad.Doctor Scratch wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 2:55 amWhat are the odds that he’ll apologize for making cracks about casting Pee-Wee Herman as James Strang?
At least- it is if DCP believed that other Mormon religions deserve at least as much respect as Islam.

Imagine how ballistic Peterson would be if someone suggested that Donald Trump be recruited to play Brigham Young, as an example. I think there is more chance of Peterson finishing first in the Olympic 10,000 metres, more chance of him publishing his Interpreter expenses claims, than of him ever apologising for anything. Let alone for childishly belittling the revered leader of another religion. He seems to have a barely concealed low opinion of, specifically, the Community of Christ. Do we know where that comes from? Now what about another candidate? I’ve said that I don’t want to demonize Sydney Rigdon, I’m ambivalent about James Jesse Strang. I’ve wondered if Pee-wee Herman is still available to play the role.
I have to confess I try to view Strang as sympathetically as I can, but I really can’t do it very well.
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Look at this, about the Kirtland Temple:
"(re-)obtaining"? Putting it this way shows that he thinks it "rightfully belonged" to the Brighamite faction all along. That is *massively* dismissive of wider LDS history and it conveys a nastily smug sense of superiority towards the CoC.My delight at our (re-)obtaining the Kirtland Temple wasn’t at all based on taking pleasure in the fact that the Community of Christ lost possession of it.

Right, like re-taking Greenland.
Lost Gospel of Thomas 1:8 - And Jesus said, "what about the Pharisees? They did it too! Wherefore, we shall do it even more!"

Anybody willing to say Calvinism is abhorrent must not be all bad.

To say the CofC "lost possession" of the temple is not an accurate or fair assessment. The CofC sold the Kirtland temple of their own freewill and choice in which they had original legal deed for over a hundred years. So yes, technically they lost possession of the temple but not due to any neglect or fault on their part.
