Mods do not discuss bannings, so don't even bother rousing support for a fruitless cause. Knock of your cheerleading now.

A serious question, no attitude intended.
So once banned, you can NEVER return? What if she apologises and agrees to behave differently? Is there no repentance? Who Mods the Mods? Not crying foul play as I don't know all the details, but is there not a better way? Maybe like a "time out" and Pm back and forth with Mod until understanding is reached etc. Not cheerleadin' just askin'. Feel free to delete this post if I am out of line (and accept my apologies) as it is not my intent to disrupt or take away from, just curious.
Regards,
Sentinus

While I hardly support Maggie or consider discussing her banning some sort of 'cause' worthy of 'support-rousing', I will immediately cease my 'cheerleading' (whatever that is).

I refuse to call God's will for my family bad. He has lead us and kept us and this journey He has us on - while feels like a roller coaster - is amazing. :)
Now, was I on my way out before I even began to regularly post at MADB? No way. The whole reason I was turned onto MADB was by a fellow MySpace poster, defender of the faith - on MySpace known as BenJammin - I forget his name on MADB. :P Anyways, he pointed me there to learn more because I passionatly loved to defend the faith. One of my favorite threads I ever did on the LDS church was here on the 13 Articles of Faith.
About the FA thread - I've apologised several times over about my demeanor and lack of manners or control of my tounge in that thread. I'll apologize again to anyone who participated and I may have snapped at. There are no excuses for how I behaved, I completly own my actions, so I'm not going to bore you with why I behaved that way. The bottom line was that I did, I regretted it (I never had before acted that way on a discussion board), and own those actions so as to not repeat them.
If anyone wants the Cliff Notes on what occured: I attended a non-LDS Bible study initially to attend a surprise birthday party for my husband's twin brother one evening. Steve and I enjoyed ourselves, the kids enjoyed themselves and we were invited back. We felt the Spirit, we were NEVER pressured, and yet we could feel changes occuring in our lives. There was no influence being put upon us, no questions, "Well how can the LDS church believe that?" - we just all hung out and discussed what we loved about the Bible. They were and are incrediably unique, special, loving, and respectful people. And we are so blessed to have them in our lives.
Finally, I agree with one poster who stated that most people do come to the MADB boards because their worlds have come crashing down and are in need of help. It wasn't the case with me, but it most certainly can be with others. So why not give them the benefit of the doubt? So what if you end up talking to a troll? It doesn't matter. There are some amazing and patient and kind posters on MADB and they are great blessings for those in troubled waters. I hope they continue to stay there.
Bond...James Bond wrote:To Selah: The problem with most people who go to MAD is that they don't know the rules (which are stated below).
1) The first rule of MAD is don't question the Church!
2) The second rule of MAD is don't question the Church!
3) Juliann and DCP are always right....consequently you're always wrong when talking to them....and any position you take that's not in lockstep agreement with their position is wrong too (even if its right)!
4) The Mods are unfair and unobjective, but not anonymous. (For your viewing pleasure: Orpheus=Dan G, Dunamis=Juliann, Chaos=Scott Lloyd, Argos=Jan)
5) Some MAD posters are more equal than others.
6) We hold these truths to be self evidence (to ourselves anyway):
A) Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God (so his character [or lack thereof] doesn't matter)
B) The Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham are true scriptures based on scientific evidence (that hasn't been found yet)
C) Thou shall not mention money (or the fact that a few guys in Salt Lake are sitting on who knows how much)
D) Any scientific source provided by an apologist is automatically correct (as though spoken by Jesus himself)...any source a critic produces is hogwash (and shall be treated as nothing more than an utterance by Satan himself).
7) Unlike Fox News, which says it's fair and balanced (to the contrary), MADboard doesn't even try to uphold the facade they're fair or balanced. They are about protecting the MAD elite posters.
8) Don't question DCP about anything....ANYTHING!!!! (Which The Dude learned once when he questioned DCP concerning if DCP had read a book....which led to a week suspension)
9) Testimonies will be allowed, if they're faith promoting....testimonies against the Church are from Satan!
10) The MAD creed: We are MAD....we are about defending the lies and mistakes our former and current leaders have made or will make....We are MAD....we are about stretching any scientific evidence beyond any recognition in order to cover the claims made by our scriptures....We Are MAD....we are about faith promotion and giving arguments for why false things are true....We are MAD....if you don't like it....we'll ban you. Now repeat.

I agree with Morningstar that every voice here contributes an ingredient to the MAD stew. From the sweet like Garden Girl and Rhinomelon, the tenderizers like Koakaipo and Katherine-the Great, to the picante like Pahoran and Juliann. The stew is lessened when ingredients are left out, but it is still edible.
Still, there are those who do deserve a special shout out. So many of these cross categories. Those who can always make for a good thread elsewhere, as well as here, Dr. Daniel Peterson, Juliann and Pahoran.
Those who can always be (or used to be) counted on for a thoughtful response, The Dude, David Bokovoy, Tarski, Asbestosman, the Nehor, Alter Idem, Beastie, Kevin Graham, Jersey Girl, Bond - James Bond, Runtu, Selek, Abulafia, Rollo Tomasi, Scratch, CK Salmon, Uncle Dale, Mike Reed, Dr. Shades, Don Bradley, Sethbag, BCSpace and GIMR.
Also, an extra special shout out to one who has achieved a great deal of personal growth through these forums, and that is Wade Englund.

A lot of questions I see about Maggie I see. She has a Blog on Mormon Discussions now under the name of Selah, and she has said some fairly nice things about the LDS people
