Are specific posters violating specific universal rules, or board rules in Paradise? If so, those instances should be flagged to one of the mods via DM. Or that’s been my experience anyway.

Dr Moore as I stated previously on this very thread, there is no mod responding to reports that have been made going back to Jan 2021. I believe that was Lem's date of her reports. I know I made a few early reports that went without being addressed but I don't recall the time frame. They must've been back in Dec 2020 since I found an old thread in Paradise when I requested a mod team be put back in place.

Regarding this current situation, the majority of posters ignored the trolling, then some fought fire with fire, I did make early reports on the trolling that went without response. When I saw longstanding and ongoing topics being disrupted, I started a new thread topic calling for a possible restoration of thread starter rights and to establish a new mod team to which Shades gave only cursory attention.

That is pretty much where it stands at the moment. I can link you if you need me to.

This entire thing is really getting absurd!

While there are clearly different opinions as to why this thread was started here and why it was titled as it was (I offered my opinion in the thread already) there seems to be one thing that is critically important. One thing that isn't being put on the table for consideration and that is all this projecting, assigning of motives and discussions around the "new member" (Cultellus).

What if the suggested motives aren't accurate? What if the assigned purposes that he/she has been given aren't true? What if this "new member" possesses different motives for participating? Would it matter? Does it make any difference?

As the last few days have passed, I believe it has become crystal clear what his/her motives are. I think it's become crystal clear what this "new member's" purpose for participating on this forum is. At this point, from the last several posts that he/she has mad, you would have to be almost blind not to know. But, just in case there are some who don't know, I will tell you.

His/her motives and purpose for partaking in this community is to challenge this community. This new member is calling out bigotry. Standing against bullies. Pointing out the intolerance. He/She is criticizing this community for allowing certain people to post whatever the hell they want directly and only based on who it is that is posting.

At the end of the day, no matter if you agree or disagree with the these challenges and criticism that are being placed on our table, I believe it is healthy for a community to at least consider what it is that is on the table. And now you know!

What is absurd is that you obviously aren't familiar with the chronology of the onset and escalation. You could read Cultellus history of posting here if he hadn't actively deleted the evidence to the tune of 300 posts. This isn't a case of generalities. It's a specific case of trolling and spamming that is presently ongoing in the other forum.

I watch what people do on this board. I caught the onset and followed the escalation. I am pretty sure I could venture a guess as to what I think are the intentions of others who have alternately ignored and replied to the trolls.

But don't go by me.

It would be the equivalent of someone picking up on Shulem's recent inappropriate remarks here in Terrestrial, and then using those as an excuse to litter Terrestrial with the same. In which case, Terrestrial posters would likely take note, attempt to report the posts only to receive no response from admin.

What you're forgetting to include is me asking and offering doc cam, schmo and Icarus an olive branch multiple times so we could stop the insane behavior. I admitted exactly why I was being a butthead. Conservative posters have no chance in spirit paradise to post without being insulted. Just read through the thread titles. Spirit Paradise is basically a Trump/trumpsters bashing forum. For Christ sake, you guys even go after Dr shades.

Again, for I think the eighth time now. I, Atlanticmike will stop being a total butthead in spirit paradise if I can post about Mormonism and personal subjects without being personally attacked by doc cam, schmo and Icarus. Let's talk and complain about Trump, trumpsters, christians, athiest, Mormons and so on, but let's stop the personal attacks!! Just stop!!! After writing this same request seven times in spirit paradise I still haven't had anyone respond. Why??

In the beginning of the situation, you would have reported the trolling as I did. My reports went without response.

What would happen right now as I see it, would be that a mod would need to jettison the decimated threads to Prison and the posters would start over again having suffered the consequences.

But there is not mod team and there is no admin acting on reports.

You have been here a long time, you should know how moderation works if only a mod team were present.

WaterDog was pretty cool until the Trump thing happened, and then he snapped due to his arguments with Icarus and other in the Paradise forum. Since he leans right he hates Liberals, and for whatever reason he’s sympathetic to the racist Ajax and a few other knuckleheaded Trump supporters. He determined to just troll the forum until it’s unusable. It’s interesting how he thinks by just posting things people will believe what he posts regardless of the facts.

Well, he’s right about that, unfortunately. Hey, Cultist, you’re probably familiar with antisemitic saying, “They cry out as they strike you.” Interesting that a GQP’er would be the thing he despises!

Anyway. Good times. A class in trolling. I suppose since the Cultist can’t defend his politics, Atlantic Mike can’t not hate on the laydeez, Ceeboo can’t defend Christianity, and Ajax can’t defend the white race they might as well steer every_single_conversation they dislike into manufacture grievances and playing the victim.

Hi Ceebs, the problem is that every person who trolls has a rationalization for his behavior. Sometimes they have one when they decide to troll. Often they create one on the fly depending on how people react to them. Sometimes they change their rationalization as the trolling progresses. Sometimes they out themselves as trolling, only to continue trolling in a different form. But the purpose is always the same: to disrupt the forum by derailing threads and provoking people to react emotionally. And that's what I've seen from the two posters you're referring to from the beginning. I'm not sure how far back you've read the posts, but I read lots and that's my evaluation. I won't pretend it's "crystal clear." But I don't believe for a heartbeat whatever rationalization they may be currently selling.
