I thought you mocked this thread, why do you even ask? I believe not only John 6:44, but every word of the Bible. I believe that Mormons have not come to Jesus because the cult teaches that their version of Jesus is the offspring of polygamous exalted human being they call gods. Satan is another son of these polygamous gods, some Mormons say the second, and thus Jesus and Satan are brothers. As long as a Mormon remains in the cult and refuses to renounce diabolical teachings like that, they cannot come to Jesus. They are not preaching Jesus. They have "another Jesus," of which Paul warned.

By the way, I'm also from New Jersey. Lived there for many years. Fortunately, not many Mormon inroads there - the Catholic Church is the most prominent group. Plenty of Anglicans as well.

You are mistaken. I didn't mock this thread. I call into question your approach here.

And what is your position on 1 Peter 3? You agree with that as well?[/quote]

I believe it. Jesus preached to the spirits in prison. These may have been the fallen angels, or human spirits. Not sure. But in any case, He went and preached to them. Some say that prior to the resurrection of Christ the "saved" dead were kept in the Second compartment of Hades, sometimes referred to as Paradise., see Luke 16. When Christ ascended to Heaven, He took those Old Testament saints to heaven with Him. I pretty much go along with that.

Now, my purpose here has come to an end, and my message has gone where I wanted it to go. It's been interesting......but not so nice.

You have been a registered member of this board since 2011 and yet you advise posters to tell their administrator to take down your post, you refer to "your prophet" when speaking to ex-LDS who have no prophet and somehow or another, and although you say you believe 1 Peter 3, have managed to delete this portion of scripture from your Bible.

1 Peter 3: 15, 16 KJV

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.

As to your remarks about New Jersey not having not many Mormon "inroads", I guess while you were getting "pretty good at it" you ignored the fact that the presence of Mormons in New Jersey began circa 1830's in Sea Bright.

I mean, Little Nauvoo.

You're welcome.

I have never gotten battered here for expressing my beliefs.

Must be my poor character.

No. It's your failure to know your audience coupled with a heavy dose of arrogance.

False teachers who try to undermine the Gospel come under this verse: Galatians 1:8. Good bye. PS: I'm sure there were early Mormons in New Jersey, however most people are a little too savvy to join that cult.

Servant wrote:I'm assuming you don't, and would love to have it reinstated, right? Polygamy was a cultural practice and not a commandment of God. Jesus gave us the Biblical view when he said THE TWO SHALL BE ONE. Not the Three shall be one, or the four, or the five. Paul said that each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband. However, Joe Smith, was a horrific womanizer and pedophile. He used religion to acquire wealth, power and especially women (and girls). There are plenty of Mormon males today who look forward to having many nymph-like creatures in their Celestial Kingdom - just as do Muslims.

Haha. I'm glad to see it's not just the Mormon faithful who rely on mental gymnastics to justify their beliefs. "Biblical polygamy was a cultural practice unlike the Mormon polygamy." Christian apologetics at it's best! Hahaha.

Just to be clear Servant does not represent Christianity at all, just like Nightlion does not represent Mormonism. As much as I would like to, I can’t defend her mindset. All I can say the world is made up of Mounds bars, and mixed in are a some Almond Joys, it can’t be helped.

If you actually believe this, you better repent because you are definitely in violation of 1 Tim 2:12. Right?

1 Timothy 2:12: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, she must be silent."

1 Samuel 15:3: "This is what the Lord Almighty says ... 'Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.' "

Exodus 22:18: "Do not allow a sorceress to live."

Psalm 137: "Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us / He who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks."

Genesis 22, in which Abraham is made to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice; this endorsement of female

Ephesians 5:22, "Wives, submit to you husbands as to the Lord"

1 Peter 2:18: "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel."

Book of Judges, where an Israelite man is trapped in a house by a hostile crowd, and sends out his concubine to placate them:

“So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight. When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. He said to her, ‘Get up; let’s go.’ But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home.” (Judges 19:25-28)

“And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord, and said, ‘If you will give the Ammonites into my hand, then whoever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return victorious from the Ammonites, shall be the Lord’s, to be offered up by me as a burnt-offering.’ Then Jephthah came to his home at Mizpah; and there was his daughter coming out to meet him with timbrels and with dancing. She was his only child; he had no son or daughter except her. When he saw her, he tore his clothes, and said, ‘Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low; you have become the cause of great trouble to me. For I have opened my mouth to the Lord, and I cannot take back my vow.’” (Judges 11:30-1, 34-5)

‘Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt-offering on one of the mountains that I shall show you.’ (Genesis 22:2)

“Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:22)

My comments had exactly nothing to do with false teachers. My comments had exactly everything to do with your claims v. your approach here.
