I think IHAQ may have been a bit hot under the collar because he was given a couple of reading assignments.

The word ‘troll’ when used indiscriminately loses its meaning/power. It’s just an expletive to vent off steam.

I looked up the word ‘vacuous’. Its archaic meaning is ‘empty’. I was reminded of a scripture in Jeremiah 2:13.

My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

This reminded me of the fact that, at least from my experience and perspective, those that have left the church and are its most vociferous critics really have nothing to offer that is more expansive and beautiful than the hope in Christ that is offered through/in the CofJCofLDS.

On another thread which I reposted yesterday we had discussed secular humanism and other paths such as agnosticism and atheism. Paths that offer no hope in a hereafter.

Empty cisterns.

No purpose except what we make for ourselves. We die and then we’re gone. Dead.

Empty cisterns devoid of hope.

I’ve asked repeatedly if you folks have anything better to offer than the gospel of Jesus Christ and have not received any answer that causes me to leap in wonder at the possibilities/opportunities. Just dead secularism/agnosticism that has an end and provides no purpose except for whatever small spark ignites it.

So anyway, I’m apparently, in the minds of some, a thoughtless (another definition of vacuous) person who simply comes here to be a nuisance. Oh well. I guess I should not be surprised.

IHAQ, I’m sorry to hear that you will no longer interact with me. I may from time to time comment on something that you post. Especially if I can see that it may deserve another point of view and thought process. But I won’t expect any response or answer to my questions.
