You and your friends over at the Discussing Mormons board would be considerably benefited, I think, if you could grasp that most of us -- myself emphatically included -- aren't particularly concerned about the "Heartland" model. We disagree with it, but it doesn't bother us. What bothers us (as I've said here recently in probably half a dozen separate blog posts) is the tendency on the part of some prominent "Heartland" voices to cast doubt on the faith and commitment of some of us wbo don't share their views, to depict us as part of some sort of conspiracy or cabal or cartel that is trying (rather successfully) to seduce the Church and its leaders.

I suspect that, by now, even some of the folks at the Discussing Mormons board have noticed that "TwoCumorahFraud" -- may you have joy of him! -- is, umm, more than slightly obsessive. For him, everything -- everything -- revolves around our supposed plagiarism of Mr. L. E. Hills, a long-dead member of the RLDS Church.. He can't merely disagree with us; he has to portray us as stupid and evil. (In that regard, of course, he's a perfect fit for your board, albeit a tad monothematic

As Neville quite eloquently points out, the problem for Interpreter is much larger than this single issue.

This heartland thing isn’t the main story: Interpreter and it’s cadre of associated mopologists being exposed as a sham is. Even faithful Mormons can see straight through it.

It’s become a massive embarrassment to the church.

Peterson’s obsession with Neville is belied by his constant effort to direct traffic flow to hit pieces. Even on his highly unsuccessful vOx NoStRa blog he’s taken a couple of shots at Neville here:

https://voxnostra.blog/jonathan-neville ... t-reviews/

And here:

https://voxnostra.blog/jonathan-edwards ... h-history/

It’s less about nOt BeInG bOtHeReD bY dIfFeReNt OpInIoNs By FeLlOw SaInTs and more about ensuring the Mopologetic narrative maintains doctrinal supremacy in the Brighamite branch of Mormonism. They hate Neville and want to delegitimize his work while elevating their own using ad hominem, circular citations, bad reasoning, omission, and outright lies. They’re obviously pathetic, but I guess the Q15 still finds them useful *shrugs*

Wait, what am I seeing? Peterson doubleposts his Patheos blog entries??? Doesn't that severely violate Patheos' terms of use for blog authors?

Patheos pays around $3 per thousand views. They don’t pay per article.

So if Dan wants to post his content somewhere else then he is just shooting himself in the foot. It probably means he’s not making more than a few dozen dollars a month from patheos so it doesn’t matter.

I’m pretty sure Patheos allows members to retain ownership over member content - I didn’t see anything stopping members from taking their content to their own platform. Whatever the case may be, Dan “lazy bones” Peterson just recycles his stuff on vOx NoStRa anyway. *yawn*

And on Deseret. And on that meridian thing. And on the interpreter. And he recycles stuff he wrote w Hamblin. And he triple and quadruple recycles all of it from everywhere for decades. This doesn’t even include any of his plagiarism.

I know Drumdude already posted this but I wanted to make a short comment for DCP:
A new entry has appeared on the unfortunately necessary Neville-Neville Land blog:

“Jonathan Neville tried to blackmail me”

I’m disappointed by the “personal” turn that things have now taken. Of course, it’s always been “personal” in a sense. As I’ve tried to say on multiple prior occasions, I’m quite unconcerned by “Heartland” geographical models for the Book of Mormon. I’m not persuaded by them, but I’m not especially upset that not a few others are persuaded. What concerns me is the tendency of some “Heartlanders” to regard Book of Mormon geography as a central doctrine of the Gospel and, accordingly, to cast public doubt on the loyalty to the Church, the Restoration, and the Gospel of those who publicly affirm views that differ from theirs. That’s why, alas, I’ve found the Neville-Neville Land blog “necessary.” It chronicles such poor and inappropriate behavior. And now I’m further dismayed by the gleeful willingness of at least two zealous “Heartlander” advocates to make common cause with avowed, vocal critics the Church, the Restoration, and the Gospel against those whose views on Book of Mormon geography fail to toe the “Heartland” line.

This new kerfuffle strikes me as a tempest in the proverbial teapot. As Gertrude Stein once wrote about Oakland, California, where she grew up, “there’s no there there.” Especially bemusing to me is the central role in it that is now being assigned to me both by Mr. Jonathan Neville and by my Malevolent Stalker and his epigones. I’m so peripheral to this story, as intrinsically insignificant as it is, that one would need a high-powered telescope even to see me from the periphery.

The operating principle over at the Peterson Obsession Board and in its suburbs, however, seems to taken from their revision of Amos 3:6: “Shall there be evil in a city, and Daniel Peterson hath not done it?”
DCP:

We all know how you operate. You're a slippery one that constantly needs reminding of what you said, what you copied from others without attribution, and your tactics. You constantly attack and then gaslight about what you just did. You are no victim and your constant victimhood claims merely show how weak you are. I and others have read your incessant posts over the years that support "Peter Pan" and his blog. You clearly are protecting your silly LGT territory with this and are a pot calling the kettle black when you accuse Neville and his group of doing exactly what you and your idiotic group constantly do. Please grow a pair and condemn Mr. Parker already or at least stop with the LGT territorial nonsense. The evidence is against you as Dr. Jenkins so aptly showed years ago. And please stop with the Early Modern English nonsense, too. That is an embarrassment.
Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

Thank you, David. This entire business has been terribly sad. It’s one thing to be attacked by anti-Mormon critics; it’s something else entirely to have a fellow Latter-day Saint join in with them.

I am really curious. Parker has spent four solid years relentlessly attacking this “fellow Latter-day Saint,” and his mopologist crony Peterson has done everything possible to continue advertising his attacks. Does he really not see the irony in making this statement?
