You are equivocating senses of "right road" such that it meant one thing for Holland and another for the Lord. If they meant the same thing Holland wouldn't have felt disappointed. Since God is all knowing, he knew what Holland meant. He lied. And he did it for the greater good, revealing the sheer hypocrisy of your charge against atheists.

Lying?
Joseph Smith revised the story of Abraham to have God tell Abraham to lie to Pharaoh (Abraham 2)
22 And it came to pass when I was come near to enter into Egypt, the Lord said unto me: Behold, Sarai, thy wife, is a very fair woman to look upon;
23 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see her, they will say—She is his wife; and they will kill you, but they will save her alive; therefore see that ye do on this wise:
24 Let her say unto the Egyptians, she is thy sister, and thy soul shall live.
25 And it came to pass that I, Abraham, told Sarai, my wife, all that the Lord had said unto me—Therefore say unto them, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may be well with me for thy sake, and my soul shall live because of thee.
In case the subtext is unclear for MG, that's God telling Abraham to have his wife lie so she'll then become part of another man's harem, with whom she will be having sex because that's how things worked, all to protect Abraham's life.
Genesis has Abraham as the source of the lie (Gen. 12).
Murder?
The very first scripture mastery scripture from the Book of Mormon year of seminary about, "I will go and do" is essentially an assassination tale. God practically goads Nephi into committing murder against his moral judgement. Brigham Young made blood atonement a thing in his little theocracy. I doubt anyone would sleep easy if President Monson's dementia took a turn and he ordered the Saints to rise up against some group in a General Conference. It would be 100% guaranteed someone would end up killing someone even if the majority of the Saints took a wait and see approach.
Adultery?
Setting aside our Book of Abraham example, the entire defense of Joseph Smith's polygamy hangs on God having commanded it. No one who is knowledgeable claims that Emma Smith was a knowing partner in this.
Joseph Smith was pretty clear -
That which is wrong under one circumstance, may be, and often is, right under another. God said, 'Thou shalt not kill'; at another time He said, 'Thou shalt utterly destroy.' This is the principle on which the government of heaven is conducted—by revelation adapted to the circumstances in which the children of the kingdom are placed. Whatever God requires is right, no matter what it is, although we may not see the reason thereof till long after the events transpire.'
MG, are you sure you are Mormon and go to church?
