Too many atheists are total cranks

I know there are a lot of religious nuts out there. Hell, I was one for thirty years. And I know they're irritating. But what about all the irritating atheists out there? Many of them seem no less dogmatic than the religious loons they scorn.
You know? If you don't want to say "Merry Christmas", don't say it. But for God's sake (oops), why launch a campaign to get everyone else to stop saying it? Who the hell cares? Ramadan, Christmas, Hannukah, the bizarro Kwanzaa...the more celebration, the better. In fact, I'm thinking of getting in on the act, and starting my own winter religious holiday. Of course, first I'll have to invent a religion, but that doesn't seem so hard. "Talism"...hmmm...kinda has a nice ring to it. What about "The Eight Days of Bachmania"?
Anyway, radical atheists are a notoriously touchy lot, as sensitive to insult as any other group of fanatics, so I just wanted to take the opportunity to come on here and upset them. Stop playing the wet blankets, you dweebs!

You know, it's funny - this post has been viewed 71 times, and no one has responded to it at all.
I guess that means everyone agrees with me 100%!
Careful kids - I might wind up thinking I was actually right...

I don't know any atheists who give a rip about saying "Merry Christmas", so I don't have much to say on the topic.

We can thank the non-Christians for "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" on store windows, for no Christmas carols in school concerts, for no Christmas school concerts (they are now Winter Concerts), for no Christmas scenes on public grounds. We've become so politically correct, we bend over backwards to avoid even the appearance of religion.

You're confusing race with religion, PP. Luckily for us all, I don't.

Then please for the love of Hinckley and the 12 stooges, quit yer snivelin about Happy Holidays instead of Merry Xmas, k?
This is a big country full of all different backgrounds, some of which don't care for anything but Happy Holidays.

Please point out my sniveling about anything (I want to preserve it for my children to see).
Please don't sink to Pahoran's level, labeling anyone who dares to disagree as "sniveling" or "whining" or any of his many snide comments.

Great tip! Stop using the word "sniveling", it sounds Pah-thetic!
Thanks Harms :)

I agree. However, I have to say I'm watching Dawkins on his campaign to see where it will go. When he encountered Ted Haggard I was impressed. If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Dawkins' view.
