Like the Tao of all things reality-based, South park gives us the ability to examine our surroundings with perfect clarity. For those who are unaware of what/who the underpants gnomes are, they are a representation of dumbass business plans that rely on unquantifiable means to obtain a quantifiable outcome.
The task of finding, collecting and storing underpants are the gnomes main goal as they forage through drawers under the cover of darkness in South park. They don't know why they are doing it, they just know that eventually at some point they will get a payoff.
Mormonism, like the allegorical collection of undrepants are simmilar. Live the life of a Mormon and you will realise its a carrott and stick game wherein you are told no real reason besides the unseeable exhaltation and deification you will recieve.
Eventually I realised that the task was futile, there was no payoff and the gnomes telling me to collect underpants had nothing but alterior motives.
