Mitt 'in the closet' re support of gay/abortion rights?

See link below for article about Mitt Romney's apparent inconsistency when it comes to gay and abortion rights. It sounds like he was pretty liberal on those issues when he ran for the Senate in 1994. Another interesting tidbit: Mitt's mother ran for the Senate in 1970 as an abortion supporter. I wonder where she stood with regard to the Church's later anti-ERA campaign (during which the Church argued, among other things, that the ERA could lead to more abortions).

Yup. Politics is great that way.

Running in Massachusets probably spurred the need to take these stances I am assuming. It will certainly be a good way to show his motives and a bellweather on his platform to come.

But all that being said I don't think he'll make it past the convention.
