September Dawn, a film about the Mountain Meadows Massacre is coming out in May. It will be interesting to see how they present the event. I wonder if the church will perform a pre-emptive PR strike. For more information:

This whole thing was really screwed up. If they play the wagon trainers off as innocent, that will be a real crime. All three parties were guilty of something there.

It almost sounds like theyre going to make this move "the hills have eyes" in old west days. No doubt it wil be a hack job, hopefuly it will be a direct to video release that will quickly be forgotten.

While I suspect this movie won't be very good (it's been sitting around waiting for a distributor for a long time), I don't know how you could portray the wagon train as the guilty party, unless someone like Boyd K. Packer directs. Even if the initial ambush and shootout was fueled by emotions and passions, the Mormons eventually disarmed the wagon train, lined them up, and murdered them in cold blood. How is any film maker going to make the Wagon Trainers anything but victims? The MMM is not an easy thing for apologists to spin.

Exactly what were the members of the Fancher party guilty of? And how did it mean they deserved being murdered in cold blood?

Your statement is outrageous. These were good people who died gruesome deaths for no reason at all other than they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. They did nothing to deserve this. Nothing!

I visited the MMM site last November and was stunned as I read these names. These were good, decent people who did not deserve to die.

Perhaps seeing the indiividual names helps you see them as people, not as guilty parties who deserved what they got, or who were somehow responsible. Nothing they did made them deserving of being murdered in cold blood while their children looked on.

These people in the wagon were not guilty of anything. I don't understand why the Church has been silent about this for so long. Why can't they admit that the people who did this were wrong?

I have heard different stories about whether or not Brigham Young was guilty of ordering the attack; some say he tried to stop it from happening, but couldn't get word in time.

Regardless.....the people who committed this autrocity were guilty of cold-blooded murder. Frankly, I'm glad I wasn't in their shoes when they went through the veil, because I'm sure the Lord's wrath was swift.

I have no sympathy or empathy with a killer of children. And I think it is in poor taste to make a movie out of it. That is not entertainment. It's like watching a car wreck on the side of the road.

I had a family member killed there. Oh my. That is disturbing.
