Autobiographical Songs

Post by _Coggins7 »

Bond seems not to like my forays into satirica song, and so posted:

I think the Styx song "Too Much Time On My Hands" should be your autobiographical song.

Well, I'll accept that, with one proviso: what's good for the goose is good for the gander. So here goes:

Bond:

Anything by John Barry.

Wade:

The theme to Ordinary People. (Pachebell's Canon)

Out Of My Misery:

Outer Limits theme (original)

GIMR:

Theme to Get Christy Love

Gaz:

Anything by John Williams

Truth Dancer:

Something by Constance Demby-some melodic synthesizer

Harmony:

Theme to The Partridge Family

Vegasrefugee:

Steelin' When I Shoulda Been Buyin by Uriah Heep

Mr. Scratch:

Same Old Song And Dance by Aerosmith

Dr. Shades:

The Lumberjack Song, by Monty Python

Rollo:

Paranoid, by Black Sabbath

Polygamy Porter:

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, by AC/DC

Dan Vogel:

Theme song to Sesame Street

Jersey Girl:

Don't Fence Me In by Bing Crosby

Coggins:

High Hopes, by Frank Sinatra

Who's John Barry? And I think the obvious one is "Secret Agent Man".

Dr. Shades:

The Lumberjack Song, by Monty Python

I love this song.

Polygamy Porter:

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, by AC/DC

I love this song. Alternative: Won't Get Fooled Again-The Who (complete with PP doing the screams of course)

Coggins:

High Hopes, by Frank Sinatra

I was kind of joking with that dig Coggins. I think your parodies are funny.

Don't Fence Me In? Okay, I'll cop to it. While I appreciate your including me on your list, Tom Waits wrote a song with my real name in the title!

Not for PP. A better alternative would probably be Fool On A Hill (and you can take your pick of The Beatles, The Fifth Dimension, or Sergio Mendez).

Give me a chance folks. I haven't paid that much attention to some of those other posters (exccept probably Jason), so I don't know them quite well enough. I've only spoken with Bachman once, on an interview thread (which is long out of date at this point).

I seem to spend most of my time with just the people I mentioned.
