This is a response to many posts Mr. Polygamy Porter on the now dying religious board of the SLTRIB. I know it is somewhat typical but is it really acceptable to just put your fingers in your ears and yell "LALALALLALALALALALALALLALALALALALA?" In this day and age of science, internet, research and critical thought, are you really supposed to suspend all thought like this? If so, what is the point of either believers or nonbelievers doing any research at all? Why even be reading a board that someone may post something derogatory about you religion?
Well I just thought it amusing.
Sorry friend, I am not at all afraid that the Church is not true. My beliefs are firm. Neither you or anyone else can shake my beliefs. It is you who is afraid it is true.
If you want to know the truthfulness of it, you have to live it's teachings. That's the bottom line. Live the teachings of Christ. Have faith. Exercise it. Repent of your sins. Live the principles of the Gospel. Serve God, not the world. That is the way that Jesus taught, in the Bible (and the Book of Mormon), that one would learn the truthfulness of the Gospel (See John 7:17 for one example).
All of the instances you cite that supposedly "prove" the church is false are accounts from people who themselves left the church or never had anything to do with or who have heartburn for reasons like you... no proof of horses, etc, etc. Also, you blindly cite references from Journal of Discourses, etc. without even understanding the background of what it is. There is a reason it, and other sources you use, is not considered official doctrine.
You are obviously no student of science, or you would realize how little about our world we even understand. Anyone who claims that science proves anything is a fool. Scientists can't even agree if eggs are good for us or bad for us. And you put your trust in them to prove that the Book of Mormon doesn't exist? Way to go, genius. There vast majority of scientific principles that make the world work are based upon "reasonable approximations" since theory and actuality rarely agree. Even things we think we understand are constantly being fine tuned and better understood, or sometimes science accepts "close enough" because we think we understand all we can. That is a false assumption.
Please tell me, how do you explain the miracles that occur on a daily basis? How do you explain the miracles I have witnessed with my own eyes in the presence of several other people for which there is no scientific explanation or earthly understanding? Oh wait, you have no faith, you can't explain them.
I have been reading a book called "To Save the Children" by Hartt & Judene Wixon detailing real life events that occurred in Cokeville, WY thanks to an upstanding Atheist named David Young. Please explain to me the events that occurred in Cokeville and then tell me that God doesn't exist.
You will always deny that God exists, that the LDS church is true. You have led yourself down a sad, sad path by denying your religion, by trying to prove to yourself that it is false and that God doesn't exist. All because of a lack of evidence of horses (I know it started with something else, but you are too stubborn to admit what).

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, the typical Mechman response to PP. Actually that was a lot for Mechman to come up with, usually he just claims PP is lying and prviding anti-mormon links. PP and I have encouraged him to come to this board (actually PP challenged him) to, but we'll see?
