Obviously Donny's word isn't taken as fact (and there's a banner at the bottom that says: "Responses given are NOT official statements of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints") but he actually is a fairly good writer and comes across as a good guy. As to the business of money and the LDS Church, let me assure you that the LDS Church does not "accumulate wealth." The LDS Church, through the principle of tithing and other offerings, builds chapels for worship, temples for sacred ordinances, and provides for the poor amongst us throughout the world.

Me thinks the wearing of sacred garmies (at all times), secrete handshakes, baptising of the dead, blood atonement etc, etc..... is a wee bit of what I would call excessive devotion. A friend of mine from another forum said he did his mission in Korea and was ALLOWED to consume the ginsing and green teas, but not the black tea. All I could think was WTF, you mean to tell me that you let someone on this planet tell you what kind of tea you can drink? That's just plain not right! I would have to hear that order coming straight from the mouth of GOD and then I'd probably still ask "no black tea, why not?

We nevermos seem to have this problem and end up asking the question, "Wait a minute, you let some old fart who lives in Salt Lake City whom you've never met tell you what to do, what to eat and drink, how to think, what to do with your money, and what underwear to wear?" It's a nagging question, but I think it's insane that grown men and women default to someone they've never met on social issues. I could understand asking the preacher of a local church for guidance on spiritual matters, but you don't ask your local preacher about boxers or briefs. You go commando of course. :)

Well, I have to say, being a Brit, I always had somewhat of an affection for the Osmond Family. They were pretty popular over here.

I did go to a Donny concert a few years ago, (which was actually very good) with a friend who is very much still a fan of his.
I checked out his web-site and put in a whole list of quite astute questions I thought. From the subject of authority, to Fanny Alger and the Book of Mormon.

Needless to say, my questions were NEVER put up on his board, and neither did he or any of his staff EVERY reply to any of my questions.
I think he doesn't mind dealing with non-members but ex or post members are a different category all together.

Someone tell me I am wrong. With Donny, I think it's all 'fluff' somewhat.

I'm sure he has a good heart though...

He does answer a lot of fluff questions.......but I've seen several long indepth answers that go beyond testimonial bearing. He obviously puts alot of work into answering fan mail. He does appear to have a good heart.
