"I don't want my identity known because I am a stalker&

Post by _CaliforniaKid »

from the MAD boards:

YH8
As a side note, I'll bet Dr. D . . . is pretty good and scientific when it comes to studying genetics in zebrafish, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if he admits limitations in his scholarly productions. However, his behavior and attitude about bias on this board, for me at least, cast serious doubt on his treatment of things LDS.

The Dude
And I don't work on zebrafish. Sounds like you've got some misinformation in your dossier on me. Does this casts serious doubt on your credibility? Pay attention, son.

YH8
You sure about that? You've disclosed too much about yourself in the past and I've got a long memory for certain things. I could be worng though, so I'd say it might cast doubt on my detective skills.

The Dude
...detective skills...

What does that entail?

And why are you doing it?

YH8
1) Entail? Using the information you provide to try and figure out who you are.

Why? You do not want your identity known. Simple as that. Nothing untoward.

by the way, I don't want my identity known, either. Thus the YH8 moniker.

--------------------------------

Does anybody else find this odd? YH8 is trying to figure out The Dude's real identity, precisely for the reason that The Dude doesn't want it known. This despite the Golden Rule... YH8 admits that he wouldn't want someone to do the same to him!

Has YH8 been trained by the Covert Ops Surveillance Unit of the Brigham Young University Security Squadron or something? The Dude should look for the telltale Jell-O stains on his phone receiver and keyboard.

Would our own James Bond have any helpful hints for the Dude?

I can think of any number of good reasons not to want one's identity revealed online--especially with regard to an "anti-Mormon" bias: job security (Mike Norton was fired by his TBM father-in-law), the risk of offending family unnecessarily, the simple desire to post honestly without societally-forced baggage, etc.

I'm a very small zebrafish in a very large ocean, so I don't personally care that much about my own online identity theft. My name's Chris. I live in KY. I'm a lazy state bureaucrat, etc.

I know who Pahoran is, and I don't care to divulge his mapquest information.

And, yes, I think it is creepy that someone would invest large amounts of effort to investigate someone's anonymous online identity.

And, as the poster you've quoted admits, simply because that person does not want his online identity connected with his RLI.

Admittedly, I've got too much free time on my hands. That's why I watch Stars Wars fan films. But not enough to justify the attempt to unmask an anonymous poster.

Weird.

Yes, YH8 has been my own special stalker for a while now. I gotta admit that it's a little bit of an ego trip to know someone thinks I'm that important.

Time and again he's suggested that he knows who I am. He's suggested I could be female, not male. He's suggested I'm not being honest about my religious and academic background. There have been various implications (YH8 doesn't like to be direct...) that I'm a big fake, putting up a facade of ivory tower importance that's nothing more than a bamboozle on the know-nothing MADites.

Then he says I work on zebrafish...?

But I don't.

Apparently, the person he thinks I am is someone who works on zebrafish. And is probably a woman. And probably never was a Mormon, and didn't get her PhD from UC San Diego.

It seems that YH8 thinks I'm a liar because I occasionally say things about myself that don't match up with who he thinks I am.

...It should also be noted that YH8 thinks Tarski is from Australia.

TD—

I've seen through your online disguise since the first moment you mentioned an avid interest in sci-fi. You're about 1' tall, with variegated orange and tannish stripes, prominent gonads relative to your overall size, you live in downtown Frankfort, KY, and you're an avid devotee of what I like to call "toilet time," where you whore yourself out for pettings and nose kisses.

Oh, wait. That's my tomcat, Bruiser.

Nevermind.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

I don't know how seriously I would take someone who spells the word "wrong" wrong. Seriously if this guy is really looking for information on someone's real life he's either obsessed or has a crush on The Dude. I could understand the crush, but honestly it's just a MESSAGE BOARD!!! Get a life YH8!!!

If YH8 is reading this: get a lady friend.

If The Dude is reading: tell him to f*ck off on the personal information digging.

You may recall that Juliann "warned" me back in November (in the midst of my great debate with David Stewart) that there were "people" who had figured out who I really am, and that they were planning to make it public.

When I belatedly heard about Mr. Itchy's blog, I wondered if there had been anything about me. Apparently there wasn't. Too bad. It would have given me quite a laugh to see how much they'd gotten wrong.

And the purpose of "figuring out" who you "really" are is what? Making it "public"? What is that about? A thinly veiled threat of what? Exposing themselves as common busybodies whose only response to debate is to "out" someone?

Sorry, I can't help myself here. So Dude, they "figure out" who you "really " are and do what? Put your name on a board? Your work place? Your email address? Your location? And that helps them win a debate?

I think he got that from a discussion you had with Mordecai where you mentioned the neural crest from "a seminar by Marianne Bronner-Fraser from Caltech".

PS. I know who you are because of your email contact with me.
