MAD inadvertant comments about MAD

I visited MAD this weekend to check on the horse thread. No new action there, but I did read charity's thread because I thought she was talking about this board (but I believe it was some other "other" board):

Apparently consign has been threatened with banning on this other board, not for reasons of rude behavior in particular.
There were some comments about the situation that I want to repeat here and emphasize how much I agree with them:
why me:

Amen, and amen. This is so true. When a board has a group with one particular dominant voice, and that voice has poisoned the well beforehand, it really is pointless and not worth the effort. This is exactly why I won't post on MAD. Let me just change a few nouns:
add on: the "anti-exmormon" mindset to which I refer is the notion that the only good exmormon is a silent exmormon, or one who peppers his/her criticism with frequent praise of LDS culture or beliefs.

Certain exer boards can down right intolorent at times. You can perhaps give a hint just what board it is. But I have found that when people are deep in their anti mindset, there is no way to convince them to rethink their position. But it is worth a try of course. You can PM me with the name of the board. I think that this will be easier for you.

I guessed which message board you were talking about and visited a thread that fits the description you gave with a threat of banning consiglieri.
To be perfectly honest, I don't think that message board is worth the effort. There is a foundation on that board which presumes that all Mormons are cultists, dishonest, and rude. With that as a starting point, it would be impossible to have fruitful discussions.
If they ban consiglieri, it will be proof of their paranoia...and they will continue on their merry ways. If I were consiglieri I would not be too worried.

Certain LDS believing boards can down right intolorant at times. I have found that when people are deep in their anti-exmormon mindset, there is no way to convince them to rethink their position.

There is a foundation on that board which presumes that all exmormons who continue to talk about the church are evil, dishonest, and rude. With that as a starting point, it would be impossible to have fruitful discussions.
If they ban runtu, truthseeker, moksha, etc, it will be proof of their paranoia...and they will continue on their merry ways. If I were them I would not be too worried.
