In a discussion about MMM on the MAD board, Hammer writes what is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard a believer say.

One more thing. I don't believe it was the church, the gospel, the leaders, who did this. It was those men who made choices on the spot.

Listening to how the LDS were persecuted for how many years before this, having things like Haun's mill in recent memory and Boggs extermination order put forth, (not knowing how it would feel to be a modern day Jew in Germany) what kind of state of mind were they in?

Knowing that the Government was sending a malitia to our state? I

I am a jew of the 21st century. Decades have been spent in building up hostility towards my people and my religion. What is next on the agenda? Just ready your history books.

Kind of goes along with what someone said in the PBS show, about how the Mormons sort of enjoy the persecution - makes them feel special. Sorry, I can't remember the exact quote, but it was something along those lines.

Yes...it goes along with identifying themselves as a "peculiar people".

The content of his post does not warrant discussion. The less attention someone like Hammer gets, the better.
