Can anyone tell me why...

No matter now many times I posted and reposted the word "can't" in the "manipulating Mormons" thread a apostrophe always appears making in look like the possessive form of "cannot"? I can't post the word "can't" without it appearing like this.

See, its still doing it. What's going on?

can't

That's just weird. And wrong. It's just as annoying as Microsoft thinking it's smarter than me when I'm using Word.

(by the way - it's not the "possessive" of cannot, it's a contraction)

This is really odd.

I have tried typing can't on both the Explorer browser and the Firefox browser and the apostrophe automatically comes in on both browsers.

There must be somthing in the PhP programming of the website itself that is causing this.

Nope. I simply turned on the "word censor" feature of this website to replace "can't" with "can't" For your convenience, I just turned off that particular word replacement.

Why did I do this, you ask? Well, I simply cannot stand poor grammar, especially when it comes to the proper use of an apostrophe. I can't do anything about people using "your" and "you're" incorrectly, since they're both words, but I can do stuff with apostrophes.

I've also got it set so that it'll replace a lower-case "I" with an upper-case "I" to cover for people who are too lazy to hold down their "Shift" key.

It just makes the board more readable and makes it look more professional.

I thought it had to do with pseudointellectuals trying to foist postmodernism (itself a product of pedophiles and other deviants) on an unsuspecting message board. Or something.

Oh, by the way, Runtu, I just noticed your new signature. Love it!

The Simpsons are a treasure trove of signature lines. Another favorite:

"There's no such thing as a soul. It's something parents made up to scare little kids, like the boogeyman or Michael Jackson." --Bart Simpson
