I signed on tonight and said I was browsing the Mormon.org site and happened to vernture over to LDS.org and was SHOCKED to read about the MMM.

He actually said "WHAT?"

I linked him, and after a pause he said, I heard about this along time ago as a kid in history class but they said the indians did it all...

It was like I was selling bear trap sneakers and he just could not resist trying them ALL ON!!

I said, you were raised a Mormon?

YES

And you did not know about this? don't you wonder why they hid it from you?

He then said, he was sure BY was innocent, because he was a prophet of god, like Joseph Smith, and then trouted out the age old "cuz god would not allow his prophets to lead us astray.."

I linked him the journal entry from Slick Willy "packing" Woodruff about how BY behaved around the site and his journal of entry article where Young tells the Mormon members in a conference it was all indians that did the killing.

SNAP!

I will read more about this.. he said after a while..

I left him with, "I wonder how many more secrets Mormons have, that its members have never heard about.."

"I don't know.." he left.

Soon they will shutdown this chat room, from lack of BELIEVERS!!

Sha naa naa naaaa... shaaa naaaahhhh naaahhhhhh naaAAAHHHHH.. HEY HEY GOOOOD BY!!!

Now this is one thing I can agree with you on. I would like to see a more thourough rendering of LDS history to its members.

Amazing PP. We agree on something.

PP, i think you might be right on them "...shutting down the Chat..." (Only been in action for about 2 months) Which i think is inevitable, but will be unfortunate... LDSism needs that incredulous exposure to diplay themselves as they are to 'investigators' who take the initiative to "Chat". They are from a completely different psyche group than those who don't venture forth...

I skyped in last night to ask about Eve-from-Adam's-rib??? I was/am surprised to learn, "Yes that is the truth." You mean even today? Yes, even today... Our Prophet tells us..."

I thought that was the belief of only the more ignorant/uninformed/misinformed Mormons!!! I was/am wrong... How could i be wrong??? A few other questions re "The Fall'' assured me that Adam's sins are not mine BUT, IF i'm not baptized by Mormon PRIESTHOOD, i'll simply live forever outside of Heaven... To get into Heaven where "God" is i must be A Mormon...

The objective of this "Chat" is to stear one to another "Chat" with local Mishies...

Leads me to believe the Corp's concern with the failing NA Missionary program... "What can we do???" I"m sure tops most agendas... Maybe they should ask, outside-the-box, eh?? Like here,,,, maybe??? Warm regards, Roger

I had another long chat with one of them last night, and it's become like a video game for me: how long can I keep them engaged and still dispute the gospel. There's a whole lot of "iron fist in a velvet glove" going on, but damn it's fun!

Last night conversation was mostly about knowing something based on feelings. It's utterly amazing to me that there are adults out there that actually think feelings alone are a valid way to know something without a shadow of a doubt. I honestly felt sorry for this guy.

A bit of history about Mormon chat.

Several years ago, from about 1995 until about 1999, Ychat was one of the most successful sites on the net. It had about 40,000 hits a day, with hundreds of chatters from all over the world. It had it's fair share of troublemakers like PP, but the mod squad was more than up to the task. All conversations were recorded, included the private ones. All conversations were subject to review, including the private ones. This was stated right up front. I ought to know: I was the head mod for the last four years of its existence.

We had some very interesting chats, which is why the place was so hugely popular within that age group. We talked about oral sex in marriage, masturbation, pornography, the wisdom of forcing youth to take out their endowments prior to serving a mission, premarital sex, church discipline, and on and on. We had a lot of BYU students and Ricks College students, young adult members from all over the world, missionaries from the mission field, and a few celebrities like Pres Monson's granddaughter (who took part in the oral sex conversation).

The church bought the site, closed the chat, and renamed it Mormons.org. Another person bought the name Ychat and tried to revive it a couple of years ago. It wasn't successful. I think the church has finally seen the value of the chat room, but rather than find informed monitors and let the chat flow, they're trying to use it as a missionary tool. Bad idea.
