Oh, yeah?
Well, his career's in the toilet.
Living well is the best revenge!
How many people want to guess whether or not J. Voigt really said that "we"---i.e., contemporary LDS---are "extreemist"? Bernard Gui would seem to disagree. Or perhaps he was listening to a totally different program?
Bernard Gui wrote:He based his beliefs on the MMM on John Lee's diary,
the Bagley book, and another short work by a 19th
century member...I cannot remember the name.
He did say he would not hold MMM against Mitt Romney
and he wished the Church would fess up completely, although
he did express approval of the statement on the LDS
website. Several LDS called in, including a descendent
of BY, but no one had any hard information to contradict him.
Medved was very supportive of the LDS position and
repeatedly said there was no evidence BY was involved.
Voight thought he was.
Seems like a fair assessment, right? MorningStar, the Haagen-Dasz Princess, couldn't care less:
MorningStar wrote:I never heard of Jon Voight until that episode of Seinfeld when George (I think it was George) thought he had Jon Voight's old car. I had no idea who he was then and though I've read about September Dawn, I still don't know what he looks like or what else he has starred in. I don't find myself being very concerned that Jon Voight thinks we are religious extremists. It's about as upsetting as Eric Roberts believing we are religious extremists.

Let me know when John Cusack gets into this crap and I'm sure I'll get very upset. biggrin.gif Or Brendan Frasier. Eh, who cares. They're not time travelers and until they are, their opinion won't matter much to me.
What is striking to me about this is that not only are posters like MorningStar prejudiced against the film without having even seen it, but they are now ready to totally shun and crucify the personnel involved in it! Get a load of this:

Funny, eh? But here is the real humdinger. I found this post to be utterly breathtaking:

On another note, I recently contacted the Anti Defamation League, asking them to come out against the September Dawn movie. In my personal opinion, the ADL is nothing but a bunch of politically correct socialists. HOWEVER, in this case I'm willing to work with them since we both probably agree this movie is nothing but bigoted sensationalistic crap.
But just wait, it gets better:
(emphasis added)CQUIRK wrote:I received a reply that they are waiting for the movie to come out first before they issue an opinion. Though I sent them some links on the movie reviews and a opinion piece from Michael. I'll probably email them a link to the SD trailer so they can get the idea of what I'm talking about. But yes it looks like they agree that the film stinks to high heaven of bigotry.
I know that if the ADL comes out against September Dawn, it might take some wind out if the sails and the mainstream media wouldn't necessarly be promoting a movie like September Dawn if the ADL condemns it.
Even Left-wing anti-Mormons would think again with siding with something that the Anti-Defamation League bashes.
Wow! Pretty amazing that this person is willing to start up an email campaign to a organization s/he *hates*, just in order to attack a film s/he hasn't even seen! Further, in striking contrast to the overwhelming TBM sentiment on MAD, the evil, socialist ADF is actually waiting to comment until they've seen the film. What a concept! Onward, Christian soldiers.....
