So the movie tripped, broke it's leg, contracted hepatitis C and was mauled by a rabid wolverine coming out of the gate....in other words it only pulled in 176K on it's first day.
Looks like a bomb folks.
I don't know about you....but I'm blaming Daniel C. Peterson for this one.

My hubby's watching it right now. I didn't want to see it - I just don't want to feel upset for the next few days. Reading about the MMM is about all I can handle, and I try not to do that too often.
I can't wait for him to come home and give me a review.

I blame no advertising campaign and Mormons not getting angry enough to stage mass protests and provide the movie with free publicity.
THE MOVIE THE Mormon's DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE reads well as a slogan.

Jesus H. Christ, its only been out one night.
And no it is not a scifi movie so it will not pull down 300 mil.
I am just happy to see it out in the public's eye now.
I was born and raised in Mormon Utah. When I was taught about this event, both in LDS seminary and Utah history class, they always said it was Indians that did all of it.
Yes, it would have freaked me out, to have been taught it was Mormons that did the killing.
Had I been taught the truth about this sick religion, as a youth I would have exited long ago.

My husband came home from the movie. It was a matinée showing and he reported the theater half full, which was a better turn out than he expected. He thought he might be the only one there!
The movie was good, he says, and he also reported that some people leaving the movie were marveling over the strangeness of Mormonism. The movie showed some temple scenes, castration and blood atonement, as well as scenes of the massacre. It shed a light on the dark historical past of Mormonism, but those historical tidbits were interwoven with a fictional love story.
He still wants me to see the movie, but I'm still not sure I want to. Sigh.

Well it's a good thing we kept you around so long, wouldn't want you to have a less wounded psyche because we took advantage of you for less time. Might have dulled the rage a little bit.

What do you know about his "wounded psyche" Nehor? Perhaps his rage is justified? Actually, his above post doesn't seem full of rage to me at all.
Your snide remarks - essentially saying you're
glad he has a wounded psyche and intense rage - are completely uncalled for. I'm working very hard to bite my tongue so I don't reply with something snide that might point out
your eccentricities. It's almost bleeding!
At any rate, you just lowered yourself significantly in my estimation.

When I read his post Nehor I tried to think of a way to tell Polygamy Porter that I'm glad he stayed in Mormonism because I'm selfish and am VERY happy he posts here.
That's what I didn't know how to say.

Go ahead, I know I'm eccentric.
