!!!Finally!!! College Football is here...

Post by _evolving »

For the next few months:
I will not be spending entire weekends scouring past threads from multiple LDS related message boards.
I will postpone my research of the apologetic method of creating foundational belief systems using unverifiable anecdotal evidence.
I will delay my search to find and document any thoughts or beliefs originating from DCP.
I will gladly put off the search for everything contradicting or offending Blake Ostler has said, written, or podcasted.
I will no longer have the free time necessary to gather information for my research folder “From Adam--to--Zohar --- the documented Mystical Progression of any believing internet Mormon”

I will be firmly planted on my couch, watching TV - with my remote in one hand and an ice cold Diet Dr. Pepper in the other, surrounded by bags of partially emptied potato chip bags…
and my 4 little girls asking my wife “ why is dad yelling at the TV??”…

for first time in a long time.. I must publicly thank God for something. Even if he is not there :)

Yep, Utah is playing tonight, and BYU is playing here on Saturday. I know it makes me a lousy exmo, but I still like BYU sports.

I'm still a fan of BYU football. We can be lousy exmos together. I'm going to watch Air Force play this Saturday down in Colorado Springs. Nothing gets me ready for autumn more than college football.

Like I said on the other thread - HALEFREAKINGLUJAH!

And count me as another BYU football fan. I have season tickets.

I'm also damn excited for the NFL. Especially fantasy football.

Go Eagles!

I wanted to get season tickets, but money's a bit tight with the move, so maybe next year. Fantasy football is going strong here in my office.

you can always scalp some good BYU tickets outside the stadium. just wait after kickoff - Prices drop quickly once the game has started. at least that's my plan for this saturday.. I't will be really weird being there again. it has only been a year, but man what a year it has been.

I'm a HUGE NFL fan and always get excited this time of year. I follow college football casually, but they really need a playoff. Last years Fiesta Bowl was one of the best games I've ever seen, but it would've been better if it meant Boise State was moving on to the next round.

Ewwww. I may not be able to be your friend, afterall.

And I'm only half kidding. I've never ever come across more disgusting "fans" than BYU supporters: by far the worst in the WAC, more vulgar even then UNLV alumni. How well I remember going to Provo to watch U of U basketball games when Mike Newlin was on the team in the late 60's and hearing the crowd chant "Hairlip" at him. Or the "Get the N*****" remarks that would be started by some clean cut Dad-type and then repeated by his brood of Aryan children.

You might say things have gotten better since then. Perhaps. I still say, if there's one thing I find worse than Mormonism it's BYU athletics.

Go Eagles!

That does it!

I'm gonna push through that new rule that you have to have a valid temple recommend and a special recommendation from your stake president before you can even enter the sacred precincts of Lavell Edwards Stadium.

To think that so many of you heathen bastards will be soiling the seats in the holy gridiron tabernacle. It's a damn outrage!

Oh, well, I guess that's what the world is coming to. I just think it's a little ironic that you apostate sonsof......... I mean, my beloved former brethren ....... are still clinging to your love for the blue and white.

I suppose that's alright. After all, probably the best BYU QB of all time (Jim McMahon) was a godless pagan like all of you.

All I know is that I've got a feeling that this could be the one year in twenty that they finally win all their non-conference games. Or, at least that's the hope we're all filled with for now, right?

That's the beauty of BYU football, even otherwise faithless degenerates like you residents of Shadyland can still be filled with faith in something each September.

Go Cougars!

BYU - 24
United Airlines - 17
