A poster known as "Lamanite" shares his concern:
I just moved into a townhome that has a community swimming pool. I went the other day, and in walked one of the most attractive twenty somethings in my area wearing a bright green string bikini. She also happens to be in my ward. She then walked over to say hi. I'm at that point having a hard time remembering what she is saying, and trying to keep eye contact. She's says bye and I'm trying to look at my book and not watch her walk away (which I failed to do).
Now, I fought internally any recall of the event until now and refused to ruminate on any image that may want to resurface. It is a struggle to maintain chaste within my own mind within the course of a normal day, without some girl prancing around me 98% naked.
My question is does these young women bear any responsibility? Also, will this primal reaction ever go away for us men.(im assuming I'm not the only one).
Good questions, indeed! (or not.) Sure enough, in jumps cinepro with his characteristic rapier wit:
It's almost as if an immodest woman can become pornography to the men who see them.
As far as the urges going away, you might contact Evergreen. They are experts in helping men to overcome their urges, not matter how primal.
Knock off the snarky comments, Cinepro. If you don't have something substantive and sincere to contribute, then stay out of this thread. =Mods.
LOL!!
I rarely visit MA&D anymore (no need), but every so often there's a gem like the above that makes that occasional visit well worth it.
So, what do y'all think? How would you answer Lamanite's final two questions? And did cinepro's so-called "snarky" comments consist of anything other than what the church itself teaches?
