The true order of prayer
Ok, this question is probably for exmo's since TBM's are not allowed to discuss this topic.
Why is the "true order of prayer" taught in the endowment, yet people are told not to pray
in that manor at home or elsewhere either in private or not.
Of what use is the "true order of prayer" if your not to use it ?
When praying in this manor, does God pay closer attention to your prayer?
Is it more likely that you will get positive results when praying in this manor?
If this is the "true order of prayer" why is it not used all the time?

My understanding is that people used to do it in their homes, including constructing altars for that purpose in their homes. I'm an exmo (well, pretty much anyway), so I don't believe that God hears that prayer more than others.

I found this reference interesting:
Local stake and ward prayer circles were organized and conducted until May 3, 1978, when the First Presidency announced that all prayer circles should be discontinued except those performed in a temple as part of an Endowment ceremony. (See Spencer W. Kimball, N. Eldon Tanner, and Marion G. Romney, Letter to All Stake Presidents and Bishops, May 3, 1978; "Update", 3 Sunstone 6 (July-August 1978).) The reason for this change is unknown, but could have resulted in part from the explosive growth of the Church, and the fact that prayer circles were usually organized by a member of the First Presidency or the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. (See Quinn, "Latter-day Saint Prayer Circles", page 105.)
Of course, the source is Quinn, and we know not to trust anything he says. ;-)

Ok, if you do use that style of prayer outside the temple. Do you use it for only special prayers, when you are alone? Or, do you also use that style when you're in a group of TBMs ?
If you don't use that style of pray outside of the temple then why don't you?

I use it as needed; not like you would probably think though. I've never done it in a group because I don't know of anyone who has the symbolism down enough to understand what I'm doing.
