Mission president in France talks to his missionaries about self-abuse (Hat-tip to Nom de Cypher from FLAK):

No disrespect, but I don't think masturbation is responsible for the missionaries only baptizing 2 people per month.

Lol: "30% to 40% of you masturbate".

ROTFLMAO.

And the other 60-70% lie.

That was fun to listen to. I liked how the MP essentially branded "hotmail.com" as evil. And he (and the Church generally) needs to lighten up on masturbation, in my opinion.

LOL. I loved the part when he's talking abour porno pop-up ads. He said you don't even have to do anything to get them, and it even happened in HIS house (gasp!) when his wife was checking email a bunch of disgusting porn pop ups started showing up. I had to chuckle because typically to get the porn pop-ups you have to first visit a porno site. If you have a clean system, and you're just checking your email, you won't get porn pop-ups. I'm thinking someone in his house visited a site they shouldn't have.

"The brethren call it 'self abuse' rather than 'masturbation.' It's a little bit softer...[pause] word."

"These pop-ups are incredible. Absolutely incredible.... We had one in our house the other day that absolutely blew me away.... It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen"

LOL

It's weird he's so upset about the internet. I mean, I would think in France you could walk past a newspaper stand and see tons of porn right there. That's how it was in Brazil.

I often wondered where the scriptures explicitly speak against the big M. According to him, they are,

Romans 6:12
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Romans 8:5-8
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:13
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Is it just me, or are these scriptures sufficiently vague that while they could refer to masturbation, they may also just be referring to fornication?

I guess that's the thing with the scriptures. Most of them are sufficiently vague, even the ones that interpret others.

He seems to recall it in stunningly disturbing detail.

Holland was pretty bad too. I rember the ads at bus stops and other billboards in general. And that doesn't even take into account the infamous red-light districts. To be fair, my mission president said much about those ads and also warned about other European naughtiness such as topless beaches.

I also agree about the pop-up thing. I haven't seen many porno ones lately. Either that or I've been desensitized. I don't consider a woman in a bikini to be porn.

I thought the bit about 'hotmail' accounts was funny too. Since we get emails from a cousin on a mission who uses hotmail. I bet he masturbates too. heathan.
