the article rcrocket posted in another thread. this one really deserves it's own place to discuss :)

"In a related matter, local attorney Robert D. Crockett – who also serves as a volunteer bishop for his Mormon congregation – was arrested for fighting with looters in a street in his neighborhood. “I was only doing what I needed to do to stop traffic from coming into my neighborhood and obstructing fire equipment personnel,” he informed a Signal reporter. However, when Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene, Mr. Crockett was seen throwing rocks at young school girls."

from now on -- righteous indignation will have two meanings for me - Jesus in the temple, and Bob chucking rocks at little girls.. all fun aside - I am sure I would have done everything in my power to protect my neighborhood from looting.. even rocks at little girls, but only if they looked really mean.

Well that sounds bizarre, but as school was cancelled during the time of the fire, I think it's safe to say these weren't little girls walking home from the bus. I don't know what was going on, but I dare say there's probably another side to the story.

? no record of him being arrested: sounds fishy.

go to lasd.org and on the left hand side there is inmate information. There would be something there.

Funny, when I look at the Signal online, the references to Mr. Crockett's illicit activities seem to be missing. . .

It should have been put through one of those online newspaper clipping generators---so you can make the simulated news item appear more authentic. Did Bob write it himself, or a friend? I want to know the genius who knew that Bob throwing rocks at school girls was just this side of plausible!

I don't care if it's real or not......I giggled like a school girl imagining Crockett throwing rocks at little school girls. The only way it could have been better is if he challenged the looters to a long distance run for his stereo.

For those of us who read the whole post, this is at the very bottom.

"If you have read this far, I hope you realize that this is a hoax. Apologies to Mr. Holt and the Signal."

I think some history that LDS people think happened started that/this way.

When I first read this, I was thinking he perhaps held some resentment against the
school girls thinking they symbolically represented young Zina, Helen Mar and
Nancy Marinda. Glad this was not the case.
