Should I post a link to a beheading video to see what Nephi did to Laban.
Have you seen the one where the russian soldier is decapitated with the knife by a chechen rebel.

I think such a video would fall under the category of pornography.

Hi, thestyleguy.

I don't know whether you "should" post a link, yet, I'd rather you not. What purpose would you be serving by posting such a link? Would it be for those that view it to understand the brutality found in religious texts?

I have no desire to see a human being lose their life, so I won't be viewing it if you post it.

Why not? As long as it's cartoony. Real blood is kind of gross.

While you're at it, throw in some streaming video showing US/coalition forces firing on enemy forces in Iraq and maiming/killing them...all in the cause/name of anti-terrorism and freedom.

Killing is bad...no matter what. Right?

by the way, why do you WANT to throw this kind of stuff in front of people?

Regards,
MG

When I was in my teens I was first confronted with incredibly gory war time atrocities and it was seared into my mind. Most of these were album art -- and it brought the abstract notion we have of "fighting for freedom" very close to home for me. I know visiting Hiroshima, battlefields, reading about the Holocaust, Nan King -- walking through history -- allowed me to understand the human toil behind the barbarism of mankind. I have looked on the net for images that help me understand suffering in the world from current issues to smallpox epidemics. Perhaps I'm odd?? I don't know! I just know it brings it into a crisper focus, for me.

Images can be quite powerful in telling the story of human suffering. I just don't know if it's appropriate to see one individual being murdered to show the horrors of the Book of Mormon -- the "real" horrors are horrific enough without having to reach for fantasy or literature.

I took styleguy's question as a rhetorical one.

Ditto.

Wonder if it could shed light on how someone could behead someone and then dress up in their clothes.

Maybe Nephi had the ancient Israel version of the clorox bleach pen.
