If you cannot find a more recent rebuttal on lds.org then you should, by bcspaces standards, consider it official doctrine.

Yep. It has been the official position of the Mormon Church since 1973 that "Fatties" shouldn't wear belts or knee socks. Isn't it wonderful? Isn't it marvelous?
