This is really about the same level of argument as "How do you know God didn't just create the Earth 30 seconds ago, and fill all our heads with memories of a fake history that we think really happened?"
He's essentially arguing that anything is possible that needs to be possible in order for the church to be true, so there.
But yeah, if the Brethren are holding onto the iPhone connected straight to God, how come they aren't using it? Could it be that even the brethren don't really believe it would work?

How else would they have known God wanted a billion dollar shopping mall rather than alleviating starvation in various parts of the world?
