Dan Peterson, Right on Cue! Book of Mormon Possibly True

Time to quit fighting the truth and go back to church and pay tithing, the Mayan Megatropolis is in favor of the Book of Mormon.

If only the Holy Ghost hadn't spoken to Harold B. Lee so soon in a General Conference back in the 1970's that the Book of Mormon happened in New York State.......dang!

I love how these guys will pounce on anything remotely connected to the Book of Mormon narrative as evidence, and then, LIKE THE GOD JANUS, flip their heads around and say something to the effect God doesn't use physical evidence as a proof of the Book of Mormon's authenticity.

I think I'm sticking with the Janus thing. It's just so perfect to describe their mental state.

Can you think of a more poisonous thought than the teaching that Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery were "mistaken" about Cumorah being in New York? More precisely, this poisonous thought portrays them as ignorant speculators who misled the Church about Cumorah.

Yet that is what professors at BYU are currently teaching.

This poisonous thought is the foundation beneath the Mesoamerican/two-Cumorahs theory, because if Joseph and Oliver told the truth, then there is one Hill Cumorah (Mormon 6:6) and it is in New York--which means the Mesoamerican/two-Cumorahs theory is false.

That's why anyone who still teaches the Mesoamerican/two-Cumorahs theory (or BYU's fantasy map that is Mesoamerica in thin disguise) needs to seriously ponder whether you are going to continue.

All these speculations about the Historical data disproving the Book of Mormon is grasping at straws.

After all, "among" makes it possible.

The more that is found, the more it is POSSIBLE that the Nephites and Lamanites and other ites were there, not prevalent, but just "among" like the remnants of the Lost 10 Tribes of Israel.

Dr. Peterson may have a valid point. The timeline is right, being from 1000 BC to 900 AD. If you were to wear the translating spectacles, you could spot which structures were the Temple, the Ward Houses, the Stake President's house, and the Council of Fifty chambers. Not sure which one would house the Prophet, although if it was seen from street level it would become obvious since it would be the one with a penthouse. I will assume there is probably no trace left of the soccer stadium.

Don't be surprised when the excavation uncovers a frieze depicting a steel chariot being pulled by a team of tapirs, with the words carved below, "Onward Nephite soldiers, marching as to war. With the Stripling Warriors marching on afore".

When peple are not willing to commit to objectivity , and seeing where science leads, it's hard to take seriously their excitement about "evidence."

In the end, excitement about evidence that might support the Book of Mormon will undermine belief in it as people with integrity who are first intrigued by faith-affirming facts start connecting the importance of following the evidence where it leads.

This racist diffusionist nonsense is just ridiculous.

633 Mayans have had their mitochondrial DNA analysed. Not a single one has a Middle Eastern lineage.

629 had a lineage derived from Asia
3 had an African lineage
1 had a Western European lineage

How do invisible people make any impression on Mayan civilisation? They don't. Invisible people don't exist.
