So for those of us who didn't see it is there a brief recap of what happened?

At about 10:09 p.m. he came back from a break wearing full blackface. He then said things like, "Tell me why this is offensive" and "This is not an inherently racist act." I think his point is that a thing is only offensive if we give it the power to be such.

A caller, uh, called in and urged him to drop the idea because it was seriously crossing a line (or words to that effect). Brett argued with him at length, with the frustration building in Brett's voice until finally, in response to a reminder about how blackface looks from a black person's perspective, he loudly stated, "Let me give you the white perspective!" The caller gave up soon afterward, then after a few more words from Brett he was cut-off in mid-sentence as the feed was abruptly cut at about 10:20 p.m. The entire channel itself was utterly obliterated and wiped clean from Twitch at about 10:31 p.m.

I am confused, what is the connection with smokey? Was there gross racist conversation ongoing of the sort which smells like Smokey talk? Was rabid racism tolerated untll
somebody painted their face black?

Was this defending past church policy? Was it defending the idea bad people look funny?
Was it complaining that white people suffered eight years of a racist president who didn't give white rights sufficient respect?
