Nelson tells members it's their job to fill the temples the Church builds...

Post by IHAQ »

In classic "blame the members" fashion Nelson passively aggressively articulates why temples are lying empty...
“In summary, we will build temples. You will build people prepared to enter them.”
He goes on to explain how to navigate away from a dodgy Internet site..
If someone wanders into a dark corner of the internet, even unintentionally, they should close their eyes, put down their device and exit the site — immediately. “Then, plead with the Lord for your heart and your mind to be pure and cleansed,” President Nelson said.

I'd have thought a Prophet might be aware it's easier to exit an internet site on your phone's browser if you're holding it and have your eyes open.

 Yeah learning real truth is a dark thing for the Mormon leadership. Their projection onto everyone else is nowadays quite unconvincing to me. At one time, I probably would have followed his counsel....(shudders)

Does "dark corner of the internet" mean pornography, or does it mean websites that discuss Mormonism outside official channels?

Nelson wrote: “There are few sights I love more than seeing young men and young women, their hair still wet, coming out of the temple early in the morning after participating in proxy baptisms,” he said.
Well that's just creepy.

I recall getting to streak through the temple as a youth. Went to do baptisms for the dead. Afterward, in the chaos of taking my wet clothes and changing trying to find my locker, feeling a bit embarrassed I ran from the shower naked, and out the door into the foyer. Hah...that was awesome--interrupting God's football game with a naked body. I wish I had the temerity to run from the ushers trying to maintain order.

I'd guess he means anything that isn't pro Church doctrine of the day. But yes, pornography and anything critical or revealing in terms of the Church would probably be high on his list.

It’s always amused me that whenever Daniel is talking about criticism of the church, he never posts a link to what he’s talking about. His readers are just told that “they-who-shall-not-be-named said something bad on website-that-shall-not-be-named.”

It’s the elite Mormons treating the chapel Mormons like children.

Well...... the leaders have certainly helped foster that... after all, to actually foster independent thinking adults? Far too difficult, better to give the kids a blankie and toys and pats on the head so they remain intellectually docile.

I wonder if Rusty meant the gospel topics essays page on the 'church's' own website when he said 'dark corner of the internet'? Can't have members learning the ugly truths about the fraudulent foundations of the 'church' now can we? We all know they can't afford to have members learn the real truth about the true character of Joe Smith, what he said and did and how the B of M was actually created, especially the missionaries, gotta keep the ruse going to keep members thinking the religion is perfectly legit and so stay away from non-'church' approved sources you apostates!
