This one sounds familiar to me. I was going to say I recall being told about remote people in Latin American having these kinds of experiences.

John Dehlin had an episode about a Mormon group who broke off from the main Church due to being given a bad liaison to Mexico. Missionaries visiting this group years later would be astounded by how much they knew. Like LDS missionaries to Africa running across those who remember the teachings of the RLDS missionaries and seeing a similar miracle. The Brighamites could have been in Africa earlier if not for their racial policies.

Isn't "Last Days in August" a film about the tragic suicide of former porn star August Ames after being bullied on social media? Here is the trailer:

What in the hell is DCP up to now?

I've heard from unreliable sources that the co-executive producer is referring to one or more of the following exciting developments involving money:

The Relief Society sister in Parowan, who is far from wealthy, has agreed to donate her life savings to help fund Last Days in August.

The producers have signed a deal with Busch Gardens Williamsburg to film the scenes of the apostolic missions to the British Isles inside the park's picturesque English village. (Filming in the British Isles is prohibitively expensive for small studios such as Resolute Films.)

Paul Reubens, best known for playing the comic character Pee-wee Herman in film and on television, has agreed to play the role of James Strang for a mere $50,000.

The film's special effects team has successfully repurposed portions of the face-melting scene (viewer discretion is advised) from the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark to depict Brigham Young's transfiguration. (Going with Industrial Light & Magic to create the same effect in 2023 would have cost thousands of dollars.)

I'm looking forward to the film's release in 2024!

Im so excited that DCP is sticking with practical effects instead of CGI. They really immerse you in the story and it’s so much more believable. I’m sure there will be a line of new converts out the doors of every cinema across the country once this releases in IMAX, Dolby Atmos, RealD 3D, and other Premium Large Format venues. Christopher Nolan is just praying it doesn’t release the same week as his next little film.

I sure hope that the actor playing Brigham is as convincing pretending to be Joseph as the real Brigham was.

I hope they do a rendition of the face merge. It'll fit right in. Magic rocks, divining rods, an imaginative "prophet," making stuff up as he goes along, bent on real estate schemes, banking schemes and collecting women, and now face mergers. What more could someone want for a religious past?

And yet somehow through all the craziness, there is this air of superiority that still infects the collective.
Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

As if it helped the RLDS Church any.
The RLDS conversion of slaves after the Civil War didn't help, because white members refused to associate with the new converts.

That was the FAULT OF SOCIETY!
NOT OF BRIGHAM YOUNG!

Then again, you obviously don't know much about RLDS History or American History, for that matter.
