DCP Has Been Encouraging The Public To Donate To An Evil, Abusive And Fraudulent Charity

For many years, DCP has been using his platform, Sic et Non to encourage the public to donate money to Operation Underground.

Recently, the Church has taken the extraordinary step to distance itself from Operation Underground and founder, Tim Ballard: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/churc ... r-AA1gMAKA

Operation Underground is facing numerous allegations of fraud, accusations of sex abuse (both of many female staff/volunteers and many "rescue targets") and the exploitation/abuse of minors. Operation Underground looks like it was nothing more than a cesspool of fraud, abuse, corruption and lies. Basically, the perfect fit for DCP. https://americancrimejournal.com/operat ... n-in-2020/

Here are just a few of DCP's posts that encouraged his readers to give their hard-earned money to support this evil, abusive and fraudulent organization. Where was the discernment DCP? Operation Underground turned out to be more fake than DCP's accent.

Operation Underground Railroad is a cause that my wife and I have supported (in our minor and financially unimpressive way) and that we’ve encouraged others to support.

It’s time, at the end of this year and in the Christmas season, to put a bit of a plug in for another of the charities that my wife and I favor — one, of course, of thousands of worthwhile organizations in the United States and beyond that are doing remarkable things and that merit support.I’ve already mentioned the Liahona Children’s Foundation. Now I want to recall to your attention Operation Underground Railroad. I cannot imagine a cause that is more unambiguously good.

As I’ve indicated for a very long time, two of our favorite charities — both of them, incidentally, with substantial Latter-day Saint involvement — are Operation Underground Railroad and the Bountiful Children’s Foundation (formerly the Liahona Children’s Foundation). I hope that you’ll consider them.

The world will be shocked when they find out as most are asleep. My good friend Tim Ballard has told me many evils of sex trafficking.

Insert that meme with two buttons forcing DCP to choose between his church leaders and his “good friend” Tim Ballard.

I didn't know what this was until just now.

In the future, Dan, a big red flag is any right-wing organization (full stop?) that bases their operation on the worldview of QAnon.

Are these recent posts of DCP? Or were these before we all knew that pretty much anything Mormonism is involved in is pure fraud all the way up? HOW MUCH MORE is it going to take?!?

Yesterday he was promoting the fringe right wing conspiracy nut job Cleon Skousen:

https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danpeters ... -land.html
“LA Times 1987” wrote: Gov. George Deukmejian on Friday ordered an inquiry into how and why his appointees to the state Bicentennial Commission approved the sale of a textbook that characterized black children as “pickaninnies” and American slave owners as the “worst victims” of slavery.

In one chapter of “The Making of America,” slavery is discussed briefly by the author, W. Cleon Skousen. Controversy swirls, however, around nine pages in which Skousen quotes material written by the late professor Fred Albert Shannon.

Shannon writes: “The gangs (of slaves) in transit were usually a cheerful lot, though the presence of a number of the more vicious type sometimes made it necessary for them all to go in chains.”

Skousen was reported by his secretary to be unavailable for comment Friday. She said Skousen, as a college student in 1934, read the Shannon text and decided to include it in his “The Making of America.”

I don't believe that. He doesn't support and promote Skousen. I think you are misunderstanding why he is quoting him or something. This just doesn't ring right to me.

Tim Ballard starting to look like another Mark Hoffman problem for church leaders.

We can dare prophesy in advance that neither the church nor Daniel C. Peterson who supported this sexual abuse charity will apologize for their total lack of spiritual discernment to the hurt of many innocent children under the guise and support of a religion which crows it is precisely run under that phony guise.

Plenty of material out there raising questions about the legitimacy of OUR going back for years:

https://slate.com/human-interest/2021/0 ... lroad.html

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/ar ... ic/620845/

oh I forgot, DCP doesn't entertain opinions of anyone who question his "good friends".
