How does the Bible and LDS scripture reconcile this against a 7,000 year old earth??? Either the Bible and LDS scripture are correct or science, scientists and carbon dating are all off by 693,000 years...
LONDON — She looks pretty good for 75,000 years old.
Particularly given that her skull was smashed into 200 pieces, possibly by a rockfall, before it was meticulously pieced together by scientists over the last six years.
This is Shanidar Z, a Neanderthal woman whose face was recreated by archaeologists at England’s University of Cambridge. By reimagining her facial features, rather than just the skull itself, the university said a report published on its website Thursday, that experts have been given new insight into what our ancient cousins actually looked like.
Turns out they may have been more similar than we thought — both in terms of their facial features and their thoughts about death.
“The skulls of Neanderthals and humans look very different” to ours, Dr. Emma Pomeroy, a palaeo-anthropologist at Cambridge, said in the report. “Neanderthal skulls have huge brow ridges and lack chins, with a projecting midface that results in more prominent noses. But the recreated face suggests those differences were not so stark in life.”
Given the similarities with humans, “it’s perhaps easier to see how interbreeding occurred between our species,” she added, “to the extent that almost everyone alive today still has Neanderthal DNA.”
Neanderthals were a species of early human that evolved from the same common ancestor as Homo sapiens — modern humans — between 700,000 and 300,000 years ago, according to the Smithsonian. We lived side by side for a time before the Neanderthals died out around 40,000 years ago.
DCP has pointed out many times that he believes in an old earth, so it’s possible to fit old earth into Mormonism.
But the temple ceremony makes it abundantly clear that the garden of Eden was a real story that happened 6,000 years or so ago. So these 75,000 year old humans were just animals without a soul, from his perspective.
Which is (nearly) as stupid and still the kind of thing a fundamentalist rube would believe.

They don’t.
Mormons with a Nibley-based BYU education have speculated that the Modern Human Pre-Adamites were inhabiting the earth for over two hundred thousand years before the appearance of the Mormon Adamites in Missouri.
Even though this Neanderthal woman may be less pure and delightsome by current Saint standards, now that she has been reconstructed her temple ordinances can hopefully be performed at the Orem Temple.

How do we know that Dr. Peterson does not have some Neanderthal DNA and would readily welcome Neanderthals, Denisovans, and the Homo Erectus into Spirit Paradise upon completion of their ordinances? Even today, believing individuals of Homo Erectus could be staunch dittoers on SeN.

I haven't ventured into the apologetics of Mormon young Earth Creationism. I know evangelicals like Ken Ham and Kent Hoven use to claim radioactive dating is flawed. One from memory they have used is radioactive dating of lava that supposedly yielded an age over a million years. I don't think Mormon young Earth creationists go that far off the rails do they?

Having a General Conference talk on Our Dear Pre-Adamite Brothers and Sisters would be wonderful. After all, they were around for many millennia before the Mormon Adamites appeared in Missouri. They were able to help instruct the Adamites in clothing construction, food gathering, shelter making, and the use of fire in cooking and dancing around the campfire. They never could disabuse the Mormons about popcorn popping on an apricot tree.
Pre-Adamites have been especially blessed in that they and their world completely escaped the great flood. They were able to once again share their culture when the Adamites disembarked their Ark on the Great Salt Lake.
How can a day be defined as a day before the mechanism that we have defined as a day have even existed?
Tongue twister lol.
God didn't create the planet earth in the first day. A day on earth is different to days on other planets in our solar system. So when God created in his days, the time cannot be compared to our experience of days. Also, what is the translation? Is it actually days as we understand it or periods of time?
With powerful forearms, Neanderthal Elders can be very helpful in quelling any future Heaven Rebellions when Trump's base starts goosestepping around demanding that Trump be put in charge.
Except for Joseph Smith, Dr. Daniel Peterson, and Russell M. Nelson, DNA will show that all others are descended from Pre-Adamites. Chad Daybell, Lori Vallow, Ruby Franke, and Jodi Hildebrant are probably 90% pure Mormon Adamites.
Just a guess, but Calm and Juliann are probably 60% Adamite, while the Nehor is only 20% Adamite. No guess as to Kishkumen's percentage.

So God the Omniscient did not understand the basics of writing and speaking--know thy audience and communicate in terms that they understand? The audience? The inhabitants of earth. To earth inhabitants, a "day" is one revolution of the earth. If God is so dense or self-centered as not to speak to earthlings in terms that they understand, then perhaps everything attributed to God in the Bible (and Book of Mormon, etc) has to be discarded with a grain of salt. It doesn't mean what earthlings would understand those words to mean, so all of it must be dismissed as undecipherable gibberish. This apologetic--how do we know what a "day" meant to God--just relegates that apologist's God to the heap of stupidity. Perhaps the apologists need a do over on this one.
"Apologists try to shill an explanation to questioning members as though science and reason really explain and buttress their professed faith. It [sic] does not. ...faith is the antithesis of science and reason." Critic as quoted by Peterson, Daniel C. (2010) FARMS Review, Intro., v22:2,2.
