Less than 10% of Conference talks were from women

Out of the 33 speaking assignments, only 3 were delivered by women.

For all the PR spin of wives pictured waving with husbands on the stand, nothing has changed.

The real news is that men still rule the LDS Church from Church Headquarters all the way down to the smallest branch.

Here's the thing: some people apparently want to live in that kind of society. Just as there are women who like Jordan Peterson, Mr. Patriarchy.

I don't get it, but there you have it. If people choose to continue on in such societies when they have the ability not to do so, then ultimately that is on them.

Yes, I’m inclined to agree. What I take issue with is that the Church pretends it is taking great strides forward in equality and that women are, in fact, equal in the Church with men. It’s a lie. They keep telling it.

They probably believe they are being as egalitarian between the genders as the Divinity allows. Too bad for them.

It’s interesting that at a local level where the Stake President and/or Bishop are less misogynistic, the women serving callings are far more directly involved in the key decision making than they are at an institutional level. Once again the members are setting the example, not the General Authorities (this is in the UK and I accept that it might be an outlier).

They are trying to be as equal as they know how to. At 10% that is symbolic of tithing and for the white old boys runnin the show, that suffices...

This subject has been discussed quite a bit among evangelicals. The contrasting approaches to the roles of men and women are labeled "egalitarian" and "complementarian." https://theconversation.com/how-complem ... ine-158758 The latter would say that different is not the same as unequal.
