Joseph Smith, Tucker Carlson and Elder Finster

What do all 3 of these men have in common? Well, apparently they were all physically attacked by demons. Joseph Smith in the Sacred Grove, Elder Finster, my mission companion, at night while I was sleeping (although after hearing him describe the attack, it sounded exactly like sleep paralysis), and now Tucker Carlson:

I grew up in Utah during the anti-occult craze of the 80’s. Back then, during the Satanic panic, the Church was against playing cards, D&D, and rock music (a.k.a. occult music). Looking back on it now, it seems ironic, since the Church's origins are deeply rooted in the occult.
Remember Jay's Journal? Several of our youth leaders were quoting it at firesides and/or lessons. The youth in our stake were taught that face cards, dungeons and dragons, or several other harmless board games/rock music were so Satanic that they might end up committing suicide under Satan's influence like Jay if they dared engage with these evil pastimes:

If anyone has actually been attacked by a demon, it makes complete sense that it would be Tucker Carlson.

I grew up in Northern California and had very similar experiences. Face cards and that evil rock and roll were part of Sunday School lessons and preached over the pulpit. My Bishop even expanded the youth worthiness questions to include what kind of music do you listen to? (Hint: CCR is the wrong answer).
ETA - Jay's Journal scared the hell out of me.

Remember when Church members would not let their children watch Harry Potter because of the occult magic involved?
FARMS needed to have Drs. Greg Smith and Louis Midgley write hit pieces on Hogwarts to keep them from infringing on LDS intellectual property rights.

My bishop used as an example of evil rock 'n roll the Who's Squeeze Box.

It's sad the Church was too preoccupied, causing them to overlook the real evil corrupting the youth:

Someone should let Tucker know that being controlled by a demon isn't the same thing as being attacked by one.

On my mission, at a zone conf. one of the AP's got up at the podium and pronounced that the night before he had had the 'ministering of angles'. We were all pretty much in awe. Now, 40 years later, knowing he made it all up has provided me with countless hours of righteous indignation contra Mormonism.
See, since my thought experiments say that a disembodied spirit no longer has a physical body vehicle to hang out in, he therefore has no sensory equipment, so he cannot see, hear, taste, walk around, etc. And so anybody who claims to have had an encounter with a disembodied spirit is making it all up, and should prob. have their knuts cut. Just on general principle.

I'm pretty sure you're having me on here but, I'll play along. What is a knut? Hmmm, that is a good ka-uestion, I don't ka-no, I'll need to dissect it. Where's my nife.
So, Google says it can be either a (1) Playboy (2) Mosquito (3) Leather scourge or (4) An attempt by a writer to soften a hard-line assertion that someone should be castrated by inserting a little comedic relief.
