Anciently olive trees were planted alongside with vines or in a vineyard because it works. Looks like you abandoned that argument and have focused on the one you think is stronger! :D

As to your "stronger" argument it appears you are hanging on the thread that vineyard somehow only recently began to mean "a sphere of endeavor" and that Websters dictionary is the only relevant dictionary available for this time frame. :D Okay.

Also vineyard has meant "a ground planted with vines" not grape vines, just vines, since before Joseph Smith was born.

So, just to be clear, it seems your argument is that the story in Jacob 5 was written later than the 1300s, in order to make the vocabulary work? Even though Joseph Smith was supposedly translating ancient documents, written long before that?

Did Zenos have a ghost committee also?
Interactions with you are a waste of time. You're too concerned about your reputation and the mask you've built for your peers. Let me know when you're ready to be sincere and authentic. :D I doubt I'll care but who knows! :D

Terrestrial caliber material moved to appropriate forum- Xen

Val, I would appreciate it if you'd step out of this conversation because you're being disruptive and those kinds of comments are not appreciated in the Celestial forum.

Thanks.

Don't be a smart ass! Show me in the Bible where trees and vines were planted *IN* a walled tract of land whereby it's classified a vineyard of the LORD.

Show me or shut the hell up. You ain't got nothing.

Absolutely!! You know I love your threads, and while I am not always conversant in all the theories, I always read and then participate where I can.

What I see, from my professional viewpoint, is that you build up theories based on strong and complementary plausibilities, which, according to Mclellan and various others here, is the exact opposite of bad apologetic reasoning, where a series of the slightest (and even internally contradictory) non-impossibilities are piled up in the most illogical manner.

I second that.

Shulem, I strongly urge you to consider writing a formal article regarding your groundbreaking finding of the chiseled-out muzzle, then submitting it to Sunstone.

Dr. Shades,

Thank you very much for such a positive endorsement and generous compliment in showing confidence in my work. I've worked a little on improving my writing skills but have avoided acting as a serious author because I'm just a simple guy...

But I have a better idea. I'm willing to entertain the idea of working with Daniel C. Peterson, behind the scenes, in providing script material and support for an upcoming movie featuring the production of the Book of Abraham preparatory for publication in Times and Seasons. I'll show Dan what I think really happened based on the evidence and how Smith personally saw to it that Anubis's head and image was butchered in order to hide the prophet's errors and prevent others from finding out.

Can you imagine? This is an opportunity for Peterson to produce a film that could potentially make millions.

Anyway, the Church is going to have to face up to this problem sooner or later. There is no escape.

Shulem
