McClelllan on Within Reason podcast
I don't know if this has been posted here, but Dan McClellan was interviewed on the "Within Reason" podcast close to a month ago It's a little over an hour, but a solid interview. I've been listening to and liking this podcase recently.

Re: McClelllan on Within Reason podcast
It’s nice to have someone around to make clear, accessible videos debunking a lot of misinformation in the Christian space. There’s a mountain of bunk out there and he is tackling a ton of it every day.
I know it’s not his area of specialty, but I would love it if he ever focuses more on Mormonism specifically. I wonder if he avoids it because he worked so closely with many of the Mopologists producing the misinformation, and doesn’t want to ruin those relationships.

Do you think?

I love how Dan debunks the many myths pushed by religious con artists. He makes the world a better place.

Re: McClelllan on Within Reason podcast
Judging from some of the comments on the MAD board, there are several apologists who are less than happy with some of Dan's podcasts. Debunking Christian myths oftentimes hits home to LDS in a big way as many Christian myths are the bedrock of modern revelation. It's one thing to say the Bible is screwed up, and quite another to say modern prophecy is screwed up. The Garden of Eden and no death before Adam and Eve myth is the basis of the temple endowment, the 6000 year old earth myth has been clearly restated in the D&C as modern revelation. The global flood, and the tower of Babel myths are required for the Book of Mormon narrative to work. Kind of a rock and hard place.

I think some in the Church would like to see needless myths debunked, and a no-nonsense biblical historian like Dr. McClellen is the perfect person to do it.

Dan worked for the Church for a decade. As far as I know he’s still an active member. If he starts tackling Mormonism in any meaningful way it would likely cost him his membership.
