I have found this to be a good exercise for checking my modesty and hope that it can be helpful to others as well.

In a world that is ever pushing the boundaries of modesty, I have watched my mother set the example for not only my sisters but for me as well. While most often we think of modesty as only applying to girls, guys can choose to be modest also. Mom always evaluated what my siblings and I were wearing using the “arms held high” test—if skin was showing around our waist when we lifted our arms, we would choose another outfit. In addition, Mom had to approve any clothes we wanted before we bought them.

Young women should wear clothing that covers the shoulder and avoid clothing that is low-cut in the front or the back or revealing in any other manner. Pretty soon, I predict, garments will be reduced down to little pasty patches embroidered with the all important markings applied to the proper places on the body. The markings are what make the force field work.
Well, that and clean living. Funny thing, I thought I was living pretty clean but for some reason my force field was turned off. On my mission I took a fairly average little road wreck on my ten speed. Left a nice three inch round piece of suit jacket, vest, shirt, garment and skin from my right shoulder blade on a Boulder CO avenue.

Why do they have to wait until the end of the year? Just cut the f'n sleeves off!
Is this another change to keep the tithes flowing to retain a pass to the international house of handshakes?
It’s a way to increase sales of temple garments. Because now everyone has to buy new ones all over again. Temple garments are becoming ‘fast fashion’ items. Soon there will be more colour choices etc. the leg length will change, everything is now amendable.
The biggest question for me is, if the underwear is an expression of faith, why does it have to be underwear, hidden? Why not create a clothing item that can be worn on top of normal clothing, like the Jewish faith has? Why is Mormonism obsessed with secrecy?
