Gambling is placing a wager on a yet unknown outcome. One who places a bet thinks that the potential outcome bet upon will be the outcome.
No one alive knows that there is an afterlife, much less a god and even lesser so the Mormon conception of a god. But, those who join the Mormon church and pay 10% of their increase as tithing are placing a bet on a yet unknown outcome. It's a gamble, it's Pascal's Wager.
One who benefits greatly from Mormon's placing their 10% wager is D. Todd Kristofferson, who Saturday openly condemned secular gambling. The irony is patent.
