My allergies kicked in big time, so I did pop some OTC Claritin with a beer which always results in a mild buzz.
However that was ruined when 6 firetrucks pulled up outside our bldg and evacuated it because the roof of the building next door was on fire. So I spent a couple of hours standing in the street in my nightgown trying to hold on to my cat (got absolutely shredded). Got wet from the fire hoses. Got scared. Got bored and went back inside when it looked like the fire wasn't spreading and stayed up all night drinking wine with my husband and roommate to calm down. Not a fun drunk.

And no, I don't get the cookie. I could go for a beer, but all that got drunk last night in the aftermath of the fire trauma. And I'm too lazy and congested to run out to the bodega now.

It was a reference from Andrew "Dice" Clay's movie "The Adventures of Ford Fairlain", definently in the top ten list of my favorite comedies. Go rent it if you can find a videostore that has a copy.
