Question: Why does ...

Post by _Tarski »

Why does Uber-Capitalist Warren Buffet support alleged "socialist" Barack Obama?

Same question regarding Bill Gates?

when believers want to give their claims more weight, they dress these claims up in scientific terms. When believers want to belittle atheism or secular humanism, they call it a "religion". -Beastie

I don't know about either one personally, but lately they do seem to be somewhat more concerned with the entire World rather than just America or just their pocketbooks.

I'd be interested in Buffet's thoughts on the Obama tax plan and the economy. I like his advice about investing in the market now while stock is cheap. Sure, it may go down further, but I think it's bound to recover regardless and now is cheap by any standard even if it gets cheaper later. in my opinion.

I'm not sure about Bill Gates. Part of it may be that Microsoft thinks of a global economy with plenty of workers in and from Asia so closing things down due to tough immigration laws isn't great. Similarly there is a culture of diversity. Finally, I think Bill's philosophy has changed a bit over the years perhaps due in part to Melinda. He'll still nail you if you aren't completely prepared in a meeting with him. (I know people who know Bill and have told me about how scary it can be to present to him--at least it was that way a couple years ago).
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.
